No way would I take that job. Marshall can go to the NCAA tournament at Winthrop and wait for a better mid-major or high-major offer. Charleston is not the type of job that is a huge stepping stone and Marshall is on too many lists to settle for it if he wants to leave.

Buzz Peterson has had feelers put out to him up US 17 at Coastal - no official contacts yet.

Besides Cremins, didn't Dan Dakich do that at West Virginia a few years back, or did Dakich back out before the deal was done and go back to the MAC? Beilein was the 2nd choice. It didn't work out for Cremins, it hasn't worked for Dakich (although I'm not sure he was doing a great job before WVU came calling). Maybe it works out for Marshall, but I'm not sure you can go home again.

Not sure about Dakich. I think Cremins and Marshall both backtracked on taking jobs at their alma maters (or Marshall coached their under Kresse if he didn't go there.) I was just aware of the Cremins thing because of Clemson and SC being rivals along with playing GT.

Was offline a few days... ironic indeed that Cremins takes the Charleston job after Marshall "pulled a Cremins" on them.
