Raps GM Colangelo showed why he was brought in to resurrect the Dinos -- fabulous first decision Since I have no idea who's really got a shot at #1, I'd appreciate the b-ball tall foreheads around here giving their opinions. Cheers!

I'm pretty sure that the Raptors war room will be located in a Tim Horton's.

Hard to say what the Raptors will do just yet. I've read that their biggest needs are PG and C, but the best PG's on the board (Rajon Rondo and Marcus Williams) are obviously not #1 picks, and most of the top 5 prospects are PF's (Tyrus Thomas, Lamarcus Aldridge, and Andreas Bargnani), not true C's. Pretty much, this is a weak ass draft that no one is really excited about trading up for, so it will be difficult IMO for the Raptors to move down even if they wanted to. Chad Ford says they're going to take Bargnani, and has a few good points about why they would (Colangelo has been big on foreign born players in the past, Bargnani is the biggest of the tweeners at 7'0, etc.). I've never seen Bargnani play, so I can't say they'd be making a huge mistake passing on him and going with Thomas or Aldridge, but I wouldn't be surprised if they do.

Now what?
Trade to Billy King. Hilarity ensues.

bump -- now that the draft is upon us. Betting up here is that they keep the pick and go with the Italian (partially b/c they just hired Benetton's GM), but no certainty at all.
