sports.espn.go.com/ncf/bowls05/news/story?id=2282642Friday night, Marcus Vick told The Virginian-Pilot that he would turn professional. "It's not a big deal. I'll just move on to the next level, baby" he said at a Virginia Beach restaurant, the newspaper reported Friday night on its Web site. Asked if that meant he would enter the NFL draft, he said, "Yeah, definitely." Doesn't exactly sound like a guy who's truly sorry about what he did. Yeah, all I did was speed with a suspended license and try to injure another player on purpose. What a scumbag. He obviously does not think any kind of rules, whether school-imposed or the letter of the law, apply to him. And what's even worse; if the VT officials knew of his arrest prior to the bowl game, he should not have seen the field. Winning at all costs like that is just deplorable.

My question is: who the hell drafts this kid before the 7th round, if anyone drafts him at all? He didn't excel in college, he has terrible off-the-field problems, and he has Team Cancer written all over him. Plus, his brother Michael, who did excel in college, hasn't lived up to expectations in the NFL. I mean, I don't want to see this kid's life get any more messed up than it already is, but part of me wouldn't mind seeing him getting what he deserves and going undrafted. Also, can a player be drafted from prison? I'm not familiar with the Virginia statutes, but why wouldn't the VA prosecutors go after this dude, particularly if he's already on probation?

Agreed, Austin. The kid should be behind bars. Anytime you go waving guns in peoples' faces, you're a threat to society, and should be treated as such. If he isn't properly punished and doesn't learn his lesson now, the next time he's arrested, someone will be dead.
I think the TO debacle has really shown a lot of NFL front offices that character is a lot more important when evaluating players than it may have been in the past. Someone will probably take a chance on him; that is if he isn't serving time.

Wonder if Aggy is going to chime in on this, since he was defending Marcus earlier. Anything to say , Aggy? Are you willing to admit that this kid just looks like a bad apple? I don't think there is anything inherently racist in that characterization.
