Haven't seen this in the media anywhere yet - just saw it on another board without a link corroborating it.

Looks like the Eagles are pullin' a Gruden and sacking their top WR for a while. Wonder if it'll be the rest of the year...
... either way, I'm sure we can expect him to be traded after the year. If Westbrook is on his way out as well, Owens could become some valuable draft day trade bait.

That's cool, Andy. I didn't want to win the Super bowl this season anyway.
The guy is a pain in the keyster, a cancer in the organization, any other term you can think of probably describes Terrell Owens perfectly. But there's another one out there as well:
The best receiver in football.
He's more explosive (on and off the field) than Marvin Harrison. He doesn't take plays off like Randy Moss. He goes across the middle without hesitation, unlike Moss. His combination of speed and strength are arguably unmatched in the league today.
He's been suspended for "conduct detrimental to the team." I would think that taking the league's best player at a specific position off the field is pretty friggin' detrimental as well.
I guess that's why Andy Reid and Joe Banner are running one of the top two NFL franchises of the last five years and I'm scrambling to adjust my fantasy teams and sell my plane tickets to Detroit.
Time will tell what this will mean for the Eagles, but I'm pretty sure that I won't like what it has to say.

If Westbrook is on his way out as well, Owens could become some valuable draft day trade bait. He's been suspended for "conduct detrimental to the team," which means that he can only be benched up to four games. I originally figured he was being Keyshawned, but I didn't know about the four-game rule until I read an article on Philly.com. As for the off-season...remember last year when everybody knew Freddie Mitchell was on his way out? Remember who he was traded for? I think I do. The transaction column said the guy's name was "Waiver Wire" or something like that. Everybody knows Owens will not be wearing Eagle green/white/black next season. So why would you give up anything of consequence for him? I can't imagine the Eagles would keep him around at full salary just to screw with him, so they're going to have to give him up for as little as a first-rounder most likely. It's a shame, really. 22 months ago I was violently opposed to bringing someone like Terrell Owens into Philadelphia. Then I saw James Thrash and Todd Pinkston's performances in the 2004 NFC Championship against Carolina and knew the Eagles needed a receiver to reach the Super Bowl. I also made the reasonable assumption that after what had occurred to get him to Philadelphia, Owens would have to keep his mouth shut for probably two seasons. So 20 months ago, I would have personally rolled out the red carpet for his press conference. Now...I want to see him for three hours every week, and that's it. I recognize how much the team needs him on the field, and how much it doesn't off of it. On March 16, 2004, I sold my soul to the devil of the NFL. The big question for Eagles fans: was it worth it? I think back to the entirety of last season and all I can say is yes. Yes, yes, a million times yes.

HEY now! That's my kind of news story! We can get video of the most wanted man on the planet, UBL. We can get video from a completely inaccessible New Orleans. We can get video of nearly anything and everything we want to in the world. BUT WE CAN'T GET VIDEO FROM THIS BATHROOM STALL?!?!?
