Again, Owens comes through at the end. These kids just do not quit. In the past 4-6 years you would never see something like this. If we were behind near the end, it always seemed that we would fold, or just give the game away.
I think those days are over...

I really hope this kid gets his 5th year. He will be an extremely valuable asset on what is shaping up to be a really good team.

I cannot agree more. Listening to the game on the radio, I keep feeling like it was a game we would eventually lose. I was just waiting for the end to find out how the game would slip through our fingers.
However, this team has already won 3 games in the Big East this year, with two of those victories coming in the last seconds. These types of victories have eluded us over the years. Though it is still early in the conference season, it seems as though we have a team and coach with poise down the stretch and confidence under pressure.
I would appreciate it if the Hoyas could perhaps pretend that every game consisted of 2 second halves so that we could blow out a team or two, instead of coming from behind all the time. I'll take a BE victory any way i can get it, but between the cafeteria food and the 2nd Half Hoyas, I feel my heart getting weaker every day!
Glad the team pulled it out in the end. Keep those emails flowing to ESPN so we can watch the cuse game on tuesday.

I never got the sense the team folded in the past few years, but that they panicked -- the difference is that it's not a matter of heart as much as one of preparation. These guys just seem to be WAY better schooled on how to react to another team's run, and how to maximize whatever opportunities they may have all the way up until the final buzzer. Our past few teams (until last year, anyway), showed plenty of heart, but way too little poise. JT3 is showing the guys that they can play with the heart, the head, and most of all the guts, and to use the best combination of these to end up with Ws! I am just so psyched to BE psyched after another game : )

From the newer version of the AP Recap:
``It was kind of a heads up play in thinking what Coach would probably want me to do in that situation,'' Owens said. ``It worked out. Ashanti made a great pass and we came away with the win.''

Owens is truly coming into his own and finding a niche in this offense. I actually like him a lot coming off the bench, even though Roy only played 8 min today. He provides a lot of energy, and yes, I did just mention Owens and energy in the same sentence. It's great to see him taking it to the RACK at crucial moments in the game - the backdoor cut to tie it at Pitt, the intentional foul AND 1 in the final minute against Rutgers, and now this amazing play (that I have still yet to see the highlight of ) to win it over Nova. Ice cold on those free throws too. Owens' numbers may not show it, but he has greatly improved and is playing with much more confidence, as is the rest of the team.
