Is Bobby Taylor still in the league?
As a Ravens fan, I probably should hold some grudge against TO, but I don't (well, except for that end zone dance last year). Don't really care about him too much, but I can't help but love to watch him play and I have to agree with the Eagles fan. When it comes time to play, TO will perform. All the rest of this is just background noise. Yes, he will make some stupid or self-serving remarks and cause some turmoil during the season, Chris Berman & Co. will make it out to be much more than it is, and none of it will keep the Eagles from the playoffs.
Thankfully, Ray Lewis stepped up and told all the stupid networks (I'm looking in your direction, Bristol), not to pay so much attention to the issue. I noticed the frequency of TO stories dropped off considerably after that. When Ray-Ray talks, people listen (or run screaming for the nearest Hummer limo).
"Oh, snap! I didn't see nuthin'!"
Back to the point, is TO a guy I would consider to have tremendous character or integrity? No probably not (and that's not just because of this off-season, but the last several years). But is he the best at what he does and a pleasure to watch perform? Absolutely. It's great to have athletes you can look up to or admire for more than just their on-field performance, but it's not always going to happen. I'm just happy the preseason is almost over, this nonsense is almost out of the way, and the games that count are only a week off.
(Now if TO played for the Redskins or the Steelers? Yeah, I'd hate his guts! I'm fairly hypocritical that way.)
