ESPN just announced it'll be Michaels with Theismann. Can't say I'm too disappointed. Theismann is a jackass, "I'm the best of all time" jerk, but he's pretty fair when he calls games, says what he sees/thinks, doesn't always toe the company line (if such a thing exists in color commentating). I would like to have seen some new blood, but so be it.
The question now, is, who does Sunday night on NBC? Madden is doing color, correct? Who's the play-by-play? Its Costas and Collinsworth among others in the studio (and on Inside the NFL), but who's in the booth with Madden? Grandpa Dick Enberg (who I actually like... gotta love the enthusiasm)?
And where goeth Mike Patrick and Paul McGwire? CBS? Fox?

More importantly, who will be the two sideline reporters!? I'm guessing Suzy Kolber gets her shot at MNF, while NBC has a whole bunch to choose from.
Might I suggest the future Mrs. BuffaloHoya, Erin Andrews?

My dream team would be John Madden, Little John, and Al Michaels. The conversation would go something like this:
Al Michaels: Farve dumps it off to Green, breaks a tackle and he's out to the 43 yard line. First down Packers.
Little John: YEAH!!
Madden: That means he gained 10 yards or more in the required 4 downs to do so. The packers will now get 4 more downs to advance the ball another 10 yards.
Little John: WHAT?!
Madden: Let me show you on the telestrator. (Madden skribbles something nearly incoherent on the screen. Meanwhile play on the field continues without any commentary.)
Little John: OK!!

Oh, God. Please no Dick Enberg. Every time I hear him say, "Oh, MY!" I go into apoplectic seizures.
Theismann? Well OK, I suppose. But really, Theismann and McGuire should be a package deal. I like them both together much more than I like either individually. Al Michaels can work in a three-man booth, no problem.
Mike Patrick could probably go anywhere he wants, and networks will share announcers for different sports, but he might be afraid to stray the least bit away away from Disney Inc., for fear of losing the chance to call every single Duke game ever broadcasted.
NBC might consider taking Costas out of the studio and into the booth. He could probably work pretty well with Madden. I would say that NBC could probably tap a number of the good college play-by-play guys, but I'm sure they're going to go for the biggest name they can get.
On the sidelines, what say we give that little cutie Rachel Nichols a chance? Sure, she covers the NBA now, but she's multi-talented. Been a big fan ever since she was Rachel Alexander locally, covering the Caps.
My Pavlovian response to Suzy Kolber is always to squint until I can't see anything, so I'd prefer not her.
Better yet, no sideline reporters. They offer nothing. Zip. Zero. Nada. In some cases (Mrs. Future BuffaloHoya, for example), they're nice to look at, but that's why God created the cheerleader. No offense to Bonnie Bernstein, my all-time favorite, but really, the sideline reporter is the most useless assignment ever created.

Useless?! How DARE you suggest Armand Ka...Katein... whatever is useless!!
You're right, though. They have very little to add. Besides, wouldn't it be cooler if they did that at the end of the first half/begining of the second half interview with the coaches from the booth like they are doing in baseball now with managers throwing on that little headset thing? Imagine Theismann grilling some poor sap of a coach that just misused his timeouts at the end of a half...
Well if Ms. Andrews IS so useless and thus out of a job... might I suggest a career move for her? There is an opening in the BuffaloHoya Foundation for "personal assistant." The qualifications for the job can be found in this month's Penthouse Letters.

What about Ms. Ryan from ESPN? Where does she fit into this. They should give her her own show. I don't really care what its about. I'll watch it with the mute on.

Ok they can have a show together. Preferably one that replaces Stephen A. Smith's show.

Smith has his own show?! Thank GOD I don't watch ESPN any more (except when an actual game is on).
