I like that they'll throw in the a eulogy by the team President and CEO - that's classy.

On a whim I looked up the local Texas League Franchise's promotions. Some of the Tulsa Drillers better promotions include: June 2 - St. Patty's Day in June/Thirsty Thursday June 16 - Oktoberfest Night/Thirsty Thursday July 14 - University of Oklahoma Night/Thirsty Thursday August 5 - "Faith Night"/Veggie Tails Concert - As far as I can tell its a way of reaching out to the evangelical population in town. There's also a post-game youth lock in. tulsadrillers.com/team/promotions/

Unfortunately this was nixed by the powers that be, but it would have been a great promotion: msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/3710962First two innings played by two fans on a video game, and then the players finish the rest of the game live. Fans get to select the lineups and pitchers.

The Northern League is great for things like that. The St. Paul Saints are owned by a Veeck and by Bill Murray--they've come up w/ some crazy promotions.

There was one where the promotion was zero-attendance night. No one was let into the Park until attendance was made official (end of fifth inning?), then everyone was let in for free.
Just random.

I believe the legendary Durham Bulls did that one.
