Well Philly needed help in the frontcourt and guess who is coming to Phillly to workout this Summer with Sixers and get look?? None other than SHAVLIK RANDOLPH
Billy King obviously sees something in Randolph that the rest of the world has missed. I fully expect that he will displace Webber in the starting line-up, find his game while playing with AI, and average 20-12. NOT.
Bill King is really getting good with his Scott Layden impression. At least Isiah Thomas gets players that can actually play, even though they are all for the same position. Why Billy King has a job, is beyond me. I just feel for AI. RDF, I don't know if you know this or not, but Billy King is a Duke graduate. So that makes it even worse. Billy King is clearly imcompetent. It just baffles me to the highest. When you have one of the best players ever to play the game in Allen Iverson on your squad and you are trying out Shavlik Randolph. Its beyond criminal.
I knew that way--he was the first of their amazing run of "Defensive Players of the Year" and what made that comical is how this wasn't awarded when someone like Gene Smith or Patrick Ewing was playing, but I won't start that argument up again. Anyways, he was their "stopper" on K's first Final 4 team in '86.
Anyways, AI's problem is that he hears the name of the player--i.e. Webber for instance and thinks King helped him--he hurt the Sixers more with that move than any he's made simply by being stuck with that crappy contract and Webber's gutless play is a close second to why it's a terrible move. I'm just waiting for King to get Tyrone Hill out of retirement and bring back Michael Ruffin while he's at it. UGH--I despise this clown. What makes it worse is that he's been quoted in Philly as saying he's "guaranteed a roster spot to FA Rookie but wouldn't say who yet". It better not be Randolph. Of course Billy was planning on bolting Philly to get reunited with Larry Brown, so maybe he just wanted to get fired to join Brown wherever he ends up next.
Gee, I thought this thread was in refrence to King entertaining phone calls from Isiah about a possible trade which would put Iverson and Marbury in the same backcourt.
Iverson + Webber + Marbury + Tim Thomas = *planet earth explodes*

Ok, so six year deals at $25 and $20 million for Korver and Green are actually semi-decent deals. I'm not convinced either is that good for a contract that long, but we'll see.
But Dalembert getting $10 million a YEAR for six years?? Has the NBA gone completely crazy when a guy who doesn't average double-digit ANYTHING gets $10 freaking million a year?!
The NBA is just... I mean I can't begin to... its just... I... lord I hate the NBA.
