Rooter and Showcase, I volunteer my services as a third member of White Sox Nation.
9-1 win tonight over the Tigers. Two heartening signs: 1) third strong performance by Garland. Could this finally be the year in which we can tell the Cubs that we picked their pocket in that trade?
2) 11 game hitting streak for the perenially light-hitting Joe Crede. With even a modicum of offensive consistency, Crede could be a good player.
Of course, it's only April, but I like what I'm hearing. Coupled with the ineptitude shown on the North Side, it's been a good sesaon so far. Go you White Sox!

So do I start Bonderman against the Sox today in my fantasy league, or are they just too hot right now?

Good Lord, man, I couldn't tell you that; I just come here to gloat if the Sox win.
Given that Bonderman is going against Buehrle this afternoon, I'd hesitate to give him the start. Buehrle generally does his best work against the Tigers, and fairs well in Comerica Park (where Bonderman really hasn't thus far). On paper, I'd say it's not a good matchup for the Tigers.

Well there you go. Thanks. I figured that if I came to the heart of White Sox Nation, I'd get my answer.

First off, aside from KC and the DRays, is there a good matchup for the Tiggers? Well, this isn't a knock on Buehrle, and he might have his best stats against the Tigers, but I've always had the feeling that any half decent pitcher could have thrown w/ his opposite hand against them and still done well. But not this year...I mean, seeing as how the division is going to come down to them and the Indians

You mean like Radke last year? 2W-2L....20.0IP...28H...15R...15ER(4HR)...1B/17K...6.75ERA...1.45WHIP....333BAA Exactly--Radke managed to win two games (and keep his team in the other two) throwing lefthanded. If he'd gotten better run support, he'd have been 4-0. Of course, the Twins don't give Radke run support often, even when he pitches lefty so if he gives up 4 runs in a game, he's pretty much guaranteed a loss.

The ChiTrib carried an interesting and somewhat disquieting list of quotes by Ozzie Guillen about various players. Given how he reacted to some stupid but pointed comments by Mags, I think this could herald bad things in the future: Check it out for yourself. I think it's great to be animated, and it appears to have passed on to the team, which is playing harder than it did in recent seasons. However, you're not doing yourself any favors by slighting the press favorites (Prior & Wood), even if there's a valid point to be made. Also, I don't think he can make pointed comments about recently departed personnel (or, in the case of Thomas, players that are STILL THERE) for long without becoming his own clubhouse cancer. Winning cures everything, but I can help but wonder if Guillen's mouth won't be the ultimate instrument of his own demise as manager.

Meanwhile, the Sox keep on rolling, off to a franchise-best-tying start at 13-4 after rolling at KC, 8-2.

Correction, Showcase. 14 and 4, with a 14 game hitting streak for Crede, after an extra-inning win last night. Best start in franchise history. Particularly heartening because the Sox have been such slow starters recently.
I read the Ozzie Guillen quotes. Stupid, of course. But Ozzie's job is to manage, not talk. Within reason, of course, I'll let him mouth off as long as it doesn't affect the team's performance. [Jerry Manuel never would have been so undiplomatic, but we know how successful he was.] My hope is that a continued flurry of wins will cause these quotes to become a fading memory.
Go you White Sox.

The Twinkies are so worried about the falling farther behind the Sox during this hot start that they've stopped playing games. C'mon, a team from Minnesota cancelling games because its too cold? Who do they think they're fooling?

Who do they think they're fooling? How exactly is it the Twins fault that a game in DETROIT is being canceled because of snow? If it was snowing in Minnesota, they'd definately play the games--that's why we have a dome. Us Minnesotans are smart like that. ;D

How exactly is it the Twins fault that a game in DETROIT is being canceled because of snow? Well, if they were really tough Minnesotans, they would have goaded the Tigers into going out there and playing 9 innings. Meanwhile, the Sox faithful can break out the broom - they swept the Royals at Kaufman, putting two across in the top of the 8th to win 4-3. Sox Fever: CATCH IT!!!

Sweep! Although I'm a bit worried about Hernandez's mediocre performance today and Contreras' twinged hamstring.
Now the three words that strike fear into the heart of every White Sox fan: West Coast Roadtrip. Best case scenario, let's take a couple from the A's and then provide a hero's welcome South of Madison Street.
Go You White Sox!

I think the opener against Oakland will be a close one. Zito usually dominates, but has been atrocious this year, whereas Garland is pitching like an ace. The Sox may be catching the A's at just the right time.

Winning cures everything, but I can help but wonder if Guillen's mouth won't be the ultimate instrument of his own demise as manager. I've been tied up for a bit and haven't had the opportunity I would like to respond to this. I will say first that I find the Ozzie-Mags contretemps somewhat amusing. I have no problem with Ozzie responding to Mags in the manner he did. Aside from that, however, I think Ozzie has diarrhea of the mouth, and it's going to get him into trouble at some point. He claims that the media misinterpreted his remarks about Thomas. Yeah, ok. Maybe so. But there was no reason, none, zero, to even mention Thomas's name in the context in which he did. Why Thomas? Why not Joe Crede, or Mark Buerhle, or Paul Konerko? This was absolutely ridiculous. And there is also no reason for him to be criticizing players on other teams out of the blue. I don't think Ozzie will ever be another Larry Bowa, but I don't want to see him even looking like he is going in that direction. Put a lid on it, Ozzie. Oh, and in case it wasn't clear, showcase, I agree with your concerns on this 1000000000%.
