As an alum, I have to commend the students for completely filling up the student section at the game last night. I can't recall the last time I went to a game and saw the entire section full from top to bottom. Just one more sign that this program is heading in the right direction.
(Of course, back in my day we were filling up the student section behind both baskets, so you guys still have some work to do, but keep up the good work and let's things back to where they ought to be!)

This is particularly impressive as I believe school is not even in session right now.

I have impressed all year with the student section - I think it's the third time I have seen the section full to the top. And yes classes didn't start until today...

I will also give them credit for their chant when Webb fouled out. Did GU come up with that "right, left, right, left SIT DOWN!" chant, or was that something picked up from somewhere else? Either way, I hadn't heard it before and it was great!

Either way, I hadn't heard it before and it was great! A lot of schools do it, including Stanford, Washington... I'm not sure where it actually had its birth though. We blatantly ripped it off, but it doesn't matter, I still think it's hilarious. Nice to see we can bring it to Georgetown. I can't wait to do it more times this year. And yes, being a student myself, bravo to the students for coming out in droves last night. It took us a while to wake up, but we were really loud in the 2nd half when we made our run. A little disappointed that less than 7,000 showed up for a Big East game, but at least the students were there.

CA who is on the front row now? Basically the same group - Kurt, Murph, wig people including myself, poster hoyabinx, and my friend Dave who usually wears a hard hat. Hoya Blue guys with their "Hoya Hollerz" with the megaphones where in the far end of the 2nd row and were getting things started with some of the Rutgers fans. The couch is not really being used, though. Where have you been, St Pete?

Going abroad in a few days to a location that should be easy to guess given the name. Murph is also leaving for Europe in a few days, just an FYI.

Yeah, Murph told me that too, that's too bad, but I'm sure you guys will have a great time. Your presence will be missed, but you will always be with us in spirit.
I plan to be going to Madrid sometime next year. Now, if I can only get off my lazy arse and make it to the Office of International Programs...

Clearly the main reason the student section was so full was because we were playing Rutgers, and GU Students thought it would be so novel and different to actually see people from New Jersey for a change they just had to come to the game.
Right?
Or no?

Please tell me that the student section continued the "What's your exit?" chant from last year. That chant is classic.

There were a few Jersey-oriented cheers directed at their players and fans. Front row got a "Dirty Jersey" chant going at the beginning of the game while the team was being introduced but it didn't totally catch on. "Back to Jersey" was chanted with about a minute left when we seemed to have the game in hand. Outside of that, a couple of yells such as "What's your exit?" and "Nice turnpike!" were directed their way.
We already have a nice cheer for Roy, but I was wondering if we could get something going for our best freshman and arguably our MVP, Jeff Green. I heard someone yell out, "You're my boy, Green!" (Old School reference), which I thought was pretty funny. What else can we come up with?

Jeff Green sign/cheer suggestions:
Signs - Gang Green, Green for Take-off
Cheers - "He's a freshman", bowing down when he is introduced, "You can't stop him", "Green - Green, Green, Green" (done like the Roy chant ;D)

I'll chant almost anything, but I just can't get myself to yell certain things if they annoy me too much, haha.

you are a cheer snob 007. You've turned down a myriad of my great ideas, like "scoreboard" when we were up 8 points on Pitt last year right before the half. Oh, and "overrated" at the beginnign of the Illinois game.
Ummmm.....yeah....

From the same Rutgers board:
"I think a key moment was at 40-35 with 10 minutes left and Bailey missed a one and one and Gtown came down and made a 3. If Ollie had made his two RU would have shown they could repel a Gtown run, the lead would be 42-35 instead a 5 pt swing and we are just up 42-38. RU would go to Bailey again and he would miss from inside. I realize he is a freshmen but so is Jeff Green on Gtown who quite simply stepped up when it counted. "
