This weekend our distance runners will be participating at the Stanford meet and Bumbi will be in Fukuoka, Japan for the World's XC Championships (Juniors). At Stanford Dan Nunn, Rod Koborsi, and Fleet Hower will all be running in the 10000m. Apparently, they will be in the fast heat, so this is an opportunity for them to pick up an automatic qualifier for the NCAA. Unlike most of the other events, the 10000m does not have a regional qualifer, and the runners do not have to run in the regional meet. I am not sure what the time standard is. I think the 10000m and the decathalon are the only events exempted. Natasha LaBeaud is running in the women's 10000m. Dan and Natasha are Californias, so it is nice they are running in their home state.

The results from the men's 10000m are in. Rod Koborsi finished 3rd in a tough field in a time of 28:32.49. I will check, but that looks like a qualifier. Fleet Hower finished 29th in 29:39.71 and Dan Nunn finished 33rd in 30:07.39.

Nevada, also saw that Natasha Labeaud ran a 34.31 10k--she was the only freshman in the fast section. Great time for Koborsi. Was interesting to see that Fleet hower was listed as a jr--I guess he has another outdoor season left. I checked the heats of the florida meet that the rest of the team is running in and it was interesting to see that Chris bonner is running in the 800 instead of the 400--too bad he doesn't have more eligibility left. Also I noticed that M. Infeld does not seem to be running for the women--wonder if she is redshirting the outdoor season.

Reformation, yes, I just saw this morning the result that Natasha ran that time and was the only freshman in the fast heat. She would have come in 2nd in the slower heat.
I didn't know about Maggie; it could be that she is redshirting. It will be interesting to see how Chris Bonner does in the 800m.
Bumbi is running on Sunday in Japan, which means today. Results should be in later.

I hope Chris Bonner did not get injured today in Florida, because he was a DNF in the 800. The good news in the 800m was Stanley Lagrenade's emergence from the funk he was in, as he won the 800m in 1:50.61, just missing the regional qualifying time of 1:50.4.

Late results from the Florida meet:
LJ 17. Ashley Mondie 17'02" TJ 15. Alex Baptiste 36'8.25"
4x400m (women) 5. Georgetown (Ferguson, Hubbard, Hanson-Hall, Baptiste) 3:40.79 (RQT: 3:42)
4x400m (men) 3. Georgetown (Jenkins, Lagrenade, Ward, Bonner) 3:14.10 The men beat Florida in this race. The fact that Bonner ran indicates he is ok; he probably fell in the 800m. I believe he fell in the 4x800 relay at the Penn Relays two years ago. No wonder he liked the 400m, where you run the whole race in your own lane.
Ironic this weekend that the Hoyas have their track meets scheduled for Florida and George Mason (with a small contingent at Stanford as well).

Bumby finishes 41st at world XC--he was captain of the US team--believe he was 2nd American, up from 4th at the US junior champs.
