As listed on guhoyas, Georgetown's men's and women's XC teams will be participating in the Big East championships this Friday in The Bronx (my birthplace) at the Van Courtland Park course. I think the Hoyas lost to Notre Dame by one point last year, but are hoping to regain that #1 position in the Big East. The women finished 4th last year. They are about the same position this year, unless the freshmen step up. Unfortunately, Natasha is redshirting this season now. Maybe they'll surprise.

The women just finished 4th in the Big East XC meet at Van Courtland Park in The Bronx. The Hoyas just missed 3rd as Marquette edged them out by two points. Elizabeth Maloy and Maggie Infeld both made All Big East by finishing in the top 15. Both were in the top 10 -sixth and tenth, respectively.

Aw, Notre Dame beat the Hoyas 31-51. The Hoyas did get four in the top 15 to give them All Big East credentials, but the Irish got all five scorers in the top 10. I don't know yet, if Bumbi ran. If he didn't, the Hoyas did very well.

Just an interesting thought. If Chris Lukezic were still running for the team, and Rod Koborsi had XC eligibility, instead of track, the Hoyas would have probably won 29-41. But that is why they have races. Avoids all the speculation.
More results, when they become available.

I still don't have the full results. But is being reported on one site that Bumbi is redshirting this XC season.

I have to stay on my toes. Guhoyas is getting the XC results faster than ever. They already have the results of today's Big East meet up on the website. And accurate as well!

Watch out, Nevada! With Muir and the new team in place, you may be reduced to "just a fan!"

Looked like a good result for the men X-Bumbi and a disappointing result for the women. Too bad bumbi is redshirting, I think we could have scored pretty high at the NCAA meet with him, back end of the top 10 still looks possible but I think we could have gone higher if he competed.
The women it seems only have two runners currently competitive at a natl level in XC, it looks like the freshman are not ready yet because of injury or trouble adjusting to running at an elite colege level, looks like we'll have to wait for next year to see if they can make a real return to the natl scene

Yes, the women look a year or two away from doing something on the national stage. They will be lucky to make NCAAs this year. And I had been awaiting Bumbi all year, but I don't want him to run if it will jeopardize the rest of his running career here. With him the Hoyas are definitely a top ten team. Without him the Hoyas are still deep, but don't have the extra presence at the top. That said the Hoyas are running well and have made #9 without him. I hope they don't suffer the letdown of last year's NCAA. I think they will be better prepared this year. Tommy Manning, more of a track guy, has shown improvement in each race. He said he would be there in November. This is his last season, so he wants to go out with a bang.
