This weekend the men's team will be playing two games in Maryland's annual tournament. Games are at 5 on Friday and noon on Sunday.
After all the fun last weekend, is there a chance a trip to CP could still be organized?

I doubt it, considering Hoya Blue is planning a field hockey event on Saturday. However, the more Hoya Hooligans like you that we get, the more likely we can do this kind of thing. It would be sweet.

It's great that you're thinking about organizing a trip to UMCP to watch Hoya athletic teams but your headline HAS to be reworked!!!! Hooligans and College Park should ALWAYS go together, preferably in alluding to burning couches in the streets or looting stores on Rt. 1 which overlook said furniture aflame. Compared to UMCP sports fans, Hoya devotees are exemplars of discretion, decency, civilized behavior and the social graces.....

Well, Hooligans was used because we're trying to establish a fan group for soccer games called the Hoya Hooligans.
Anyway, I dont think this will be possible because we have to do a field hockey game on Saturday and possibly stop by some Volleyball games on Friday or Saturday. There is just so much going on right now that its pretty much impossible, although it would have been awesome to be able to take a bunch of people into College Park for a game.

Three unanswered goals (Schramm, Jefferson-Dow, and Frank) late in the second half gave GU the win over No. 21 VCU tonight. Big win for the program against a tough team!

I will have an opportunity to watch some soccer this weekend. Tonight my son's alma mater, the Univ. of Portland will play UNLV here in Las Vegas. UP plays UCSB (where I taught and did research for a few years). Incidentally, the UP women, who won the national title in 2002 are 4-0, and have outshot their opponents 87-14. Their game against Stanford was before 4524 fans in Portland, which is about twice the size of the school. So the Hoyas should get out a few people for the games (and XC meets!).

Nice win for the guys. We should definitly make a point of trying to get people out to the Fri. 9/23 game vs. Nova, which is the next home game.

I see the Hoyas play a WCC and fellow Jesuit school in Santa Clara. They have an excellent soccer program, mainly with the women. A win over SC would be a coup. And BTW UP lost to UNLV. Oh, the ignominy. A mysterious hand ball caused the tying goal to be called back.

Santa Clara is ranked in the top 5, so it is a big game for the men tomorrow.
