For the first time in NCAA history, a team outside the East won the title, this time in women's play when Northwestern (a club team as late as 2001) defeated Virginia 13-10. A generation from now, names like Northwestern, Notre Dame, and Texas may be as familiar in NCAA women's lacrosse circles as Virginia, Duke, and Georgetown. www.laxpower.com/laxnews/news.php?story=1295

Look out for Denver's men's team to be good next year and Orgeon's in the future as well. They both have new, energetic coaches and I believe Denver beat Final Four participant UVA earlier this year.
