GU gave up 3 goals in last 12 seconds of the first half -- terrible, but still tied. Better get it together in the second half! This live feed on GUHoyas.com is pretty fun.

FINAL: GU 15-Towson 14
Heart Attack Hoyas at the end with GU turning it over with 23 secs left in the Towson end. Towson turns it back over and GU runs out the clock.
GU will face Dartmouth up in Hanover, NH on Sunday for the NCAA quarterfinals....
Not the crispest game ever played but a win is a win. I have to believe Dartmouth will be tough up there.....

Yeah, that Webcast is pretty fun--if only it were free all the time!
And I got to play one of my favorite games today: "guess who's more confused: the announcer, the officials, or all of the above".
Today, your answer is ALL OF THE ABOVE!!
Seriously, WBH, let's talk to the A.D. or the CSTV people. We'll get a six pack, a bag of Tostitos, a bunch of "holy toledos" and "dodged a Howitzers" and other assorted sayings, and climb up on the roof of the press box and do the WWBH/WFLH(oya) thing.

I thought the announcer was confused, but those refs would make anybody that way -- what an oddly officiated game!

LOL! hahahaha....just what the Athletic Dept. wants....a bunch of drunken, nacho-bloated alums calling the game on a webcast! I'm up for it if we can sneak it by Brick/Simons/Fried! Those announcers do not know their lacrosse. In all seriousness, why doesn't GU ask Sheehan Stanwick to broadcast the games?! She's already broadcast games on CSTV and maybe even ESPN. She's also written articles for Inside Lacrosse mag/website. She's poised, smart, experienced and probably the greatest women's lax player in GU history (although her younger sister may be starting to give her a run for her money!!!).....

The joke the announcer made about the Green Card and the INS during the second half...to use their phrasing: HOLY TOLEDO!! That's when you know you're in a little over your head; you just know he was thinking like two seconds after that: "Man, if I had said that joke in a bar, my friends would have beat the crap out of me. HOLY TOLEDO!!"
Not that it's easy to announce women's lacrosse, it took me about a year and a half of watching the GTown men's home games to get the all the rules down, and women's lacrosse I don't even know where to begin.
But I kinda wish when I was listening to Georgetown athletics teams play on the road, it would be more pleasant to listen to the GTOWN announcers! Geez, the football guys are even worse! I remember during the GTown-Cornell and GTown-Holy Cross games two years ago when Luke McArdle was tearing up the field on punt returns, the dominant phrases our announcer came up with were "UM" and "UH".
Seriously, I'm willing to be paid in Tostitos and beer if the Athletic Department wants me. ;D

And now a very civil war ensues in my household. For the first time in our marriage, Georgetown plays Dartmouth (my wife's college) and it means something. WBH, I'm sure you'll agree with me . . . GO HOYAS! Stomp the Green!

I do agree but I want to underscore the civility, and comity and amity, in the C86 household around this titanic matchup on Sunday.... On another score, damn Garland!!!!! LOL!
