www.usarugby.org/cgi-bin/02/championships/show.pl?competitionId=110After a tough cross-country trip and a devastating opening victory, the Hoyas finally seem to have reached the end of the road. I haven't seen a story yet, but to the best of my knowledge, this is the best showing by a Hoyas rugby side in years. Hoya Saxa to a club team which has risen above that status as a legitimate program, through a lot of their own hard work!

Congratulations to the team on their great season!
Didn't they make the final four though? Looking at that bracket it appears that they did.
I was reading an article in the Voice on the team the other day and I think I remember reading that this is the best they've ever done.

You're right -- my bad. I guess I had basketball on the brain while writing that headline!

Certainly worthy of congratulations, perhaps the best season in club history, but it is a little hard to compare to previous iterations of GURFC given that they are playing in Division II and as recently as 2000 we used to go up against the likes of Navy and Penn St. in Division I. Of course I played agains the C sides of those powers, so I am not making any claims of personal greatness, but I had not realized they had dropped down a level. Sometime during my undergrad years GU made it to the Division I playoffs but was promptly dispatched by Virginia Tech.
