In an attempt to keep you up to date with former Hoyas, even those who did not graduate from GU, but have transferred, I have two results to report.
They are both 800m-types, one male, one female, and I believe both stayed one year. Maybe the lack of facilities chased them away. Whitney Schmucker ran a good time at a meet at Berkeley this weekend. 1 Chloe Jarvis SR California 2:05.61 1 2 Ada Anderson JR Iowa St 2:07.32 1 3 Whitney Schmucker SO California 2:08.73 1 4 Arianna Lambie SO Stanford 2:09.13 1 5 Becky Hammitt JR Colorado St 2:10.04 1 6 Zinzi Evans SO Fresno St 2:10.08 2 7 Manuela Kurrat JR Idaho 2:10.35 2
Courtney Jaworski could have been a main runner on our 4x800 m relay team and a standout in running the individual 800m. Yesterday, however, he ran the 1500m with a good time of 3:50.82, finishing 5th at a meet at U Penn, where he attends.

Speaking of Jaworski, I got this from the U Penn website and want to cry (at what may have been at GU):
“Jaworski enjoyed an extremely successful first year as a Quaker after transferring from Georgetown. He quickly established himself as the dominating mid-distance runner in not only the League but the entire East Coast. He won both the Indoor and Outdoor Heptagonal crowns in the 800m. Courtney also ran on the IC4A Championship 4x800m and the All-East 4x400m relay teams. Jaworski has a near flawless stride and has the closing speed needed to become a world-class runner. Throughout the year he continued his run of success by finishing second at the NCAA Regional meet with a then personal record of 1:47.91. After that he qualified for the NCAA National Outdoor Championships and then the 2004 Olympic Trials. Look for Jaworski to challenge Sam Burley's school record over the next two seasons and hopefully follow Burley in becoming another Penn 800m runner who wins an NCAA National Championship. Jaworski is a student in the College of Arts and Sciences.”

A couple of results for GU track alums yesterday. Eric Savoth ran the 1500 m at the Mt. SAC relay, in the same section that Tommy Manning and Chris Lukezic ran, and posted a time of 3:48.15 for 29th. Winning the 800m at the Sea Rays relays in Tenn. was Treniere Clement, who is running for the Knoxville Elite. Her time was 2:03.94.

Chris Lukezic had quite a weekend in California at the Mt. SAC relays. Yesterday, he ran the 1500m at 4-minute mile pace. Today he was entered in the invitational 800m. The results are, as follows:
Finals 1 Jonathan Johnson Texas Tech 1:46.67 2 Jon Rankin U C L A 1:47.11 3 Christian Smith Kansas State 1:47.19 4 Elliott Blount Nike Farm Team 1:47.30 5 Chris Lukezic Georgetown 1:47.75 6 Mike Inge Kent State 1:49.50 7 Ben Aragon U C L A 1:49.61 8 Brendan Mahoney Nike Farm Team 1:51.57
Jonathan Johnson is the defending NCAA champ. I am pretty sure that none of these runners ran a 4:00 mile the day before. So, this was a great double. Congratulations, Chris!!!

That would be interesting. I bet he tries to run both of them at the NCAA regionals, depending on the scheduling, but he may try to put all his eggs in one basket, so to speak the the NCAAs. But with that double over the weekend (actually, Friday and Sunday) he shows he has the strength to do both and be competitive. Of course, preliminaries in the NCAA make it tough to double.
I think I missed this result from Mt. SAC, which was posted on guhoyas.com. It is good to see Elizabeth Maloy back running well.
Sophomore Elizabeth Maloy also picked up a fifth-place finish on the weekend. Maloy's time of 4:29.98 in the 1500-meter University/Open run also qualified her for ECACs. Lauren Mulkey was the winner in 4:27.53.

Chris Lukezic's time in the 800m is apparently a PR for him by about a second.

Yea it was a great race for him. happy to see hes running at this level again...
his previous PR was 1:48.08, so it was a whole second PR, but still a good one!

In addition to the Mt. SAC relays the Hoyas were busy this past weekend (at events not on their schedule and I was too lazy to look at all the track meets in the nation to look for results). GUHoyas.com has these results:
In addition to the Mt. SAC Relays, the Hoyas also competed at the Springco/Long Beach Invitational on Saturday, April 16. Quite a few Hoyas qualified for post-season competition at the meet.
Kelley Otstott, Meghan O'Neil, Nana Hanson-Hall and Jayne Penn made up the first-place 4 x 400-meter relay team. The Hoyas clocked 3:50.30 to take first place and qualify for ECACs. GU's 4 x 100m relay entry, with Nichole Torpey, Kandance Ferguson, Ashley Mondie and Ashley Hubbard, posted a time of 47.87 to earn fourth place.
Ferguson also ran the 200 and 400-meter dashes. She placed 10th in the 400-meters, out of 55 runners, with a mark of 55.94, while she earned a 13th place finish, also out of 55 runners, in the 200-meters in 24.75. Both marks qualify Ferguson for ECACs. Running right behind Ferguson in the 400 in 11th place was Ashley Hubbard. Hubbard posted a season-best 56.01 and also qualified for ECACs.
Senior Sabine Knothe ran to an 11th-place finish in the 800-meters. She recorded an ECAC-qualifying mark of 2:12.58. Also garnering an 11th-place finish and qualifying for ECACs was Kelley Otstott. Otstott completed the 1500-meter run in 4:38.35, with Hanson-Hall close behind in 13th place with a 4:40.80 mark. Hanson-Hall also qualifies for ECACs.
Ashley Mondie hit 38' ¾" in the triple jump to finish third overall, while Alex Baptiste was third in the same event with a 37'1" mark.
Chris Bonner and Nat Glackin posted the top finishes on the men's side. Bonner ran to a fourth-place finish in the 400-meter dash, while Glackin crossed the finish line of the 800-meter run in 1:53.11. Both men qualified for IC4As, as did Neil Grosscup. Grosscup ran 1:54.39 to place 21st in the 800 and qualify for the IC4A Championships.
Several members of the men's team also traveled south for the weekend of April 16-17 to take part in the Lou Onesty/Milton G. Abramson Invitational held at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Va.
Junior Jesse Patterson showed his skills in both running and jumping. Patterson captured 15th place in the 100-meter dash (11.10) while taking home fifth in the long jump with a distance of 7.03m.
Sophomore Jonathan Geffrard finished 13th and 15th in the 100- and 200-meter dash respectively with times of 11.00 and 22.80.
The Georgetown men represented the Hoyas particularly well in the 1500-meter run. Senior Chris Esselborn finished fifth out of 59 runners with a time of 3:51.99. Teammate, sophomore Brian Dalpiaz, was right behind him in seventh place with a time of 3:52.52. Sophomore Rasheed Thompson and freshmen Shane Young and Michael Banks, finished 15th, 18th and 19th, respectively.
Freshman Scott Bastek finished with a time of 15:42.93 in the 5000
