In Club Hockey that is.
The Hoyas defeated North Carolina, Duke, and Virginia last weekend to claim their first ever ACCHL title. This was a Division II title. The Hoyas have only been in the league for 2 years. Previously we were a Division III team and won many league titles against schools like Catholic, American, GW, etc. We also competed in 3 Divison III National Tournaments and finsihed as high as 6th in the final rankings. Thought you guys should know that it is possible for a Georgetown team to take down the Dukies. No Dickie V sightings at the games though.

Congratulations to the Hoya icemen! Any time they take down Duke is okay by me.

Any chance of the Athletic Department building a rink on the roof of Leavey? It could be our ticket to entry into the Hockey East.
The ANC may give the rink its blessing if we allow neighborhood children to skate for free, for improving town gown relations alone I think this is an idea worth exploring.

I wonder what the NHL lockout has done to the Caps plans to put a practice rink up on top of the Hecht's at the Ballston Common. I remember talking to some friends who used to play on the Hoyas hockey team, who said that that rink would open things up for the Hoyas.

I used to play for the hockey team and was part of the discussions with the Caps about thei rnew practcie rink. They are working on a 1400-2000 seat practice rink that would be in Ballston. We were going to have pretty much first take of any ice not used by the Caps as well as access to our own team locker room and use of the Caps weight room. We worked on this deal all on our own based on our relationship with the Caps. We played a game at the MCI Center every year and worked at home games as a way to raise money. I would love to see this fall into place. It would be a huge boost to our program.
