I may be down in Huntington Beach that weekend (20K race walk at Central Park on March 13). How far from HB (Hunt. Beach, not Hermosa B.) to the Home Depot Center?

NevadaHoya,
Huntington is driveable in 20-30 minutes from the Home Depot Center depending on traffic. You should definitely try to make it. My gal is a stinkin' 'Cuse fan and she tells me they plan on having a presence!

Here is the final info: The Event: If you are not already aware, the Georgetown Men’s Lacrosse team will be playing at the Home Depot Center on Saturday, March 12. The game is part of a day-long event called “The First 4”, which is an effort to promote the game of lacrosse in California. There will be several high school games, a rematch of last year’s US Lacrosse Intercollegiate Association A-Division Championship between Colorado State & UC-Santa Barbara, and 2 premiere Division I matchups. At 5pm, Notre Dame will play North Carolina, and at 7:30, the Hoyas take on Syracuse. As part of this great lacrosse weekend, the Hoya Crease Club has been working with the GU Alumni Clubs of Los Angeles and Orange County to plan some events where Georgetown fans can gather and meet fellow alumni, parents, and friends of Georgetown Athletics. Tickets: The promoter of the event has held tickets to the event so that Georgetown alums/friends/parents can sit together. If you hope to get seats in these Georgetown sections, you can go to the following website at AEG Group tickets: www.aeggrouptickets.com/georgetownor call Mike Kanach, B’02 (a former midfielder on the Hoya lacrosse team) @ AEG Group tickets (213-742-7576) and ask to buy in the Georgetown block, either @ $30 or @ $35 with Stadium Club access. Georgetown people will be in Section 113 ($30) and Section 112 ($35 w/Stadium Club access seats). For a preview of the view from these seats, you may go to www.homedepotcenter.com and click on Venues & Soccer Stadium. Tickets are also available through Ticketmaster outlets. Friday Night Reception: For Hoya fans living in Southern California or traveling West for the game, some Georgetown Alumni have arranged for alumni, parents and friends to meet at Union Cattle Company in Hermosa Beach. All Hoya fans are invited to get together and help generate some excitement for the game the following day. This promises to be a great opportunity to catch up with Hoyas of all ages, as there will be a section of the restaurant reserved for Georgetown. Please note that all attendees will be responsible for their own food & beverage costs. To find out more about the restaurant, please visit the website at www.unioncattleco.com. If you plan on attending, please contact Rick in Hoyas Unlimited. Banquet: There is also a US Lacrosse banquet at the host hotel, the Anaheim Marriott, as part of The First 4 schedule. The banquet is $50, with a cocktail hour and silent auction starting at 6pm, with dinner to follow. Each Head Coach, including our very own Dave Urick, will be given the opportunity to address the banquet attendees, and the keynote speaker will be Gene Corrigan. Proceeds from the evening will go to building inner-city lacrosse in Los Angeles. To RSVP for this event, please contact Brian Joy at Pantheon International at bjoy@pantheonintl.com. Pre-Game Tailgate: The Crease Club has arranged a pre-game tailgating area at the Home Depot Center for Georgetown fans. All Hoyas are encouraged to come by the Georgetown area, which will be located just inside the gates of the tennis stadium, adjacent to the soccer stadium. at the Home Depot Center. To view a facility/venue map, please visit www.homedepotcenter.com and click Venues. This event will be a cash bar event, with snack foods provided courtesy of the Crease Club. Event bracelets will be required to gain entrance to the tailgate area, and they can be obtained through Rick Hall. Rick will also be available at the gate for those who do not get bracelets in advance (i.e. at Union Cattle Co.). If you plan to join fellow Hoyas for this pre-game event, RSVP to Rick in Hoyas Unlimited. We look forward to a great Georgetown presence at The First 4, and we hope you will attend these Hoya events. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact Rick Hall in Hoyas Unlimited at 202-687-0487, or by email at hallr2@georgetown.edu. Go HOYAS!!!!

10-7 final.
Since the good folks at DirecTV want the family to pay extra bucks for the sports package that CSTV is on, and the FLHoya Parents don't feel like watching enough Fox Sports Soccer and Comcast Sportsnet while I'm in grad school 9 months of the year to make it worthwhile, I went with the radio feed tonight. SOUNDED like the goal with 2 secs to go in the 3rd to break the 6-6 tie (and start a 4-0 GU run) really brought some good momentum.
The Game Notes told me that GU had lost 8 straight to Cuse dating to 1999. And that in the last three, they'd been leading at the half but couldn't hold on. I was at the two of those that were at Harbin Field, so I got a lot of enjoyment out of this one. Good win, and of course ANY win over Syracuse in anything's a good thing.
(Even better when the men's and women's lax teams pull a double over the Orange in the same day!)
Can't wait to catch the home opener at "Wherever it is GU's playing lacrosse this year" Field against Duke in two weeks. One of the bi-products of coming to GTown is that a kid from Florida became a big fan of college lacrosse games (my freshman year floor lounge overlooked the field). I think the GTown kids are on Easter break then, which is too bad b/c I'd definitely have been up for getting the small but loyal GU Football student section (where do you think those kids in the wigs at MCI practice?) back together for the Spring session. Least I have some of the FLHoya Transplanted Floridian section to call on again this year.
But a bunch of you will be there I trust.

This was a huge win by the Hoyas. And even though there were only 7.000 fans in all, the Georgetown fans were by far the loudest. Many of the parents flew out from the East Coast for the game.
This is the type of win that will give the team the momentum to make it to the Final Four this year.

7000 fans is a lot for a non-Final Four game. Its huge actually.

Just watched the game on Tivo, and it was a very good performance from the Hoyas. The offense looked sharper than it has in a while and Merrill absolutely dominated the game all over the field. UMd seems to have our number, but we're back on track and poised for a great year.
Beating Cuse in anything feels good.
