Does anyone know how they did last weekend over at Virginia? I get bad feelings when its been more than three days and no one says anything about the outcome...

Anyone know why we have only 5 home games and 8 away games this year? I am psyched they are playing the First Four tournament in LA. That will give them some good exposure on the West Coast and it ensures that I'll make it to at least one game. Five home games seems light to me though.

Anyone know why we have only 5 home games and 8 away games this year? One guess might be the difficuly in scheduling games with the current facility issues in place at GU.

Yeah, aren't they finally supposed to start construction on the 1st phase of the MSF on March 1st? (knock on wood). I would have to assume that that would be a major issue and they may have to play on Kehoe this season.

One of the preview articles hints at it, but the one on the Hoya online preview reviewing the home games says the games are being played at Kehoe Field. The reason is in fact because construction on the MSF starts soon.
I HOPE they really mean North Kehoe, where the women's lax team plays, but I'm not optimistic. Last year, the Navy-GU was played on Kehoe Field. Besides being quite possibly the most miserable at-game experience I had at a GU sporting event (awful cold, windy, rainy weather, 95% Navy fans in the crowd), that field situation is just wretched.
Now I haven't been up to Kehoe since about May, but unless some major facelift took place, look for the stadium experience to be downright terrible. The old football bleachers are still where they were, but the turf field is missing in some places near the stands. There was a HUGE gap between the stands and the field of play (prob. 40 yards, I'd say the near sideline was in the middle of the old football field location). It's hard to see the field at all. The field itself is incredibly short b/c of the constraints of what Kehoe has been reduced to. Plus, b/c of the overflow crowd in the drastically-smaller Kehoe, they had to actually put fans in the top few rows of the NORTH Kehoe bleachers and have them looking over the fence and the walkway between the two fields for a pseudo "end zone" view.
Unless they do some major facelifting, it's gonna be kind of "yikes" to behold...that new stadium won't come soon enough.

This really sucks for the seniors, but I'm just happy they are supposed to finally be starting the MSF. I agree that they should play the games on North Kehoe. North Kehoe is a pretty good setup and it would work well even though the stands are a little small. If they play the games on regular Kehoe its just completely ridiculous.

I think the major problem with putting both men's and women's lax on N. Kehoe is that putting both of them on the same grass surface (particularly men's) would really tear up the field, almost to the point of unuseability (not sure if that's a word). If anyone has seen Harbin Field toward the end of a football or lacrosse season, you know what it's like, and having two teams using the same field for both practice and games, in the same season is a big strain.
It sucks for the seniors, but long-term, the construction of phase 1 of the MSF was going to have a direct effect on either lax or football -- looks like it will be lax.
Really makes me wish they hadn't screwed up on the Mt. Vernon property way back when.
