Spiked Shoe Club newsletter today on the weekend activities, including where these performances stand on the Hoyas all-time lists. Also, the last paragraph indicates that Nicole Lee is the second Hoya to win the Big East Scholar Athlete of the Year award.

Virginia Tech Challenge
In our last tune up prior to the Big East Meet, February 19-20, a number of our athletes again recorded marks that are note worthy.
GU ALL TIME TOP TEN MARKS INCLUDE:
Rod Koborsi5000m 13:53.35 (#9 performance all time)
(Currently ranked # 10 on the 2005 collegiate list)
(Rod has a previous performance that ranks him # 4 all time at GU)
Leilani Greene Pole Vault 12' 1 ?" (Another school record)
Jonathan Geffrard 200 22.41 (#8 all time)
Kandance Ferguson 200 25.09 (#7 all time)

As mentioned above the Big East Championships are this weekend in Syracuse. While we don't have a team that can cover a lot of events we feel we can still score well in the areas that we do cover. Some of our talent is older and well established while a lot of it is young and emerging. It should be a lot of fun watching them in this great competitive environment. Come out and cheer on the Hoyas!!
On an academic note it will soon be officially announced that All American Distance Runner Nicole Lee will be the 2005 Big East Scholar Athlete of the Year. Nicole is the second Hoya to earn this award, the other also being a track athlete, Steve Holman in 1992. Nicole will be presented this award at half time of the Feb 27 home basketball game. Congratulations Nicole!
