I have been impressed by the timeliness lately of the guhoya site. They already had the BU meet results up. They also indicated that Rod's time was an NCAA qualifier, and the marks by Chris, Fleet, and Colleen were all NCAA provisional marks. No indication of Nicole's time.
Could the great running by the Hoyas in Boston be a foretaste of how the bball team will do against the Eagles tonight also in Boston???
GO HOYAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! RUN ALL OVER THE EAGLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Just found out that Chris Esselborn acted as the rabbit for that high quality 3000m race in Boston. He had the lead for about the first 1200m.

One last result from the Boston U. meet:
1 Mile 22. Chris Esselborn 4:16.04 (Chris rabbited the 3000m yesterday)
One result of interest to Hoya fans is that Courtney Jaworski, who was a Hoya before transferring to Penn, was 2nd in the 800m in 1:49.98.
At the BU invitational the 1000m was won by Joel Legare, ex- great UConn runner, but his time was 2 seconds behind Tommy Manning's time at PSU.

great time for koborsi + fleet, wish we stll had jaworski as we would still be at or near the top in the 4 x 800--it seems like the women are falling off the map a bit unfortunately

The women are really missing Treniere Clement, their go-to woman of last year. Really do not have a star this year. On the other hand there are many standouts, so far, on the men's side with Rod, Chris and Chris, Fleet, and now Tommy Manning. That 1000m seems like a break through race for him. I was thinking the same about Courtney and our 4x800. We might be one short of having an outstanding team this year.

Nevada, I'm curious to see how recruiting is going--a lot of other programs in our academic peer group now have strong women's D + MD programs now, e.g., Duke and Columbia--It seems like the facilities issue is finally beginning to catch up with us --I think M Infeld probably has real elite potential for the women, but not clear that anyone else is really at that level, the men on the other hand seem to be doing better than expected.

Reformation, you are right about Maggie; she will be a good one and already showing quality. Yes, I think the facilities issue is one that has been and will continue to make it extremely difficult to recruit the elite athlete. The GU education is still worth something to the track and field student/athletes. I have not seen any recruits for GU yet in track and field, and I think we will have to wait until the normal signing period for information.

Nevada, not sure if you caught it on espn, but Jesse O' Connell ran a strong 1000m vs krumenacher at the boston indoor games over the wknd. He came in third very close behind david K and an Ethiopian guy. Jesse led most of the way after the pacesetter dropped off, was outkicked at the end, but definitely a stong performance.

Thanks, Reformation, I did miss that. I will see if there is any buzz on the race.

Good time for Jesse, 2:21.26. If Tommy Manning were in that race, he would have been sixth, which would be amazing considering there was a couple of Olympians and near Olympians in the race. Treniere Clement finished 5th in the 800m in the same meet in 2:06.13.
