There is a neat thread on letsrun.com about the best school for producing 800m runners. The consensus seems to be Georgetown. A quote from one of the posters:
Look the discussion was "best college for producing GREAT 800 runners". We're not trying to identify the "college that collects good 800 runners that never do anything". That eliminates Kentucky. Arkansas as some good 800 performers, but for the most part they are primarily milers. Tennessee has a group of guys, but historically, they aren't part of this discussion. Michigan, maybe some good guys recently, but historically no.
If you're talking 800m pedigree for colleges, Georgetown tops the list, followed by Oregon. Thats all there is to say on the subject. Last Olympics 2 out 3 800m guys were Gtown grads. Look what they've done at Penn Relays and at the height of the Enclave years.
This isn't a knock against other fantastic mid-distance programs in this country. I'm just saying that if you want to limit the discussion solely to the 800, the answer has to be Georgetown.

That's a very pleasant thing to hear.

We will have to hustle to duplicate past efforts in the 800m this year. With the graduation of Jesse and Ali and Ezra, we are a bit depleted this year. I am not sure we loaded up this year in our new recruits, at least in the 800m.

As far as new freshman go, Maggie Infeld has good credentials on the women's side in the 800m, 2:07+ I think. None of the new men appear to have comparable credentials.

Maggie started her GU career on the right foot with a 3rd place finish in her first college XC race to lead GU.
