Interesting that four out of the top 5 are from the DC/Baltimore corridor (though not really since they're all traditional powers)

I will confess I have not followed lacrosse this year with my usual fervor, but it is a surprise to see a bracket without Duke. I also wonder what Penn did to deserve a bid at 7-6.

Towson is a tough first round matchup. Since a 1-3 start, they have only lost once, and it was a hard fought loss the Hopkins. Still, I like our chances. Between our defense and Corno's habitual dominance of face offs, you have to be a real offensive powerhouse to beat us.
Playing at Cornell against Cuse will be tough. For one thing, it's turf, which plays to the Orange's (hah!) strengthes. If you think it's tough to stop Mike Powell on the torn up grass field of Harbin, wait until you see him on astroturf. It's sick. But we're certainly capable of taking them out. Minus a great performance by their goalie last week, I think we would have won that game.
We've got a good team this year. Maybe not quite as good as the top 3 or 4 teams (I don't know if Navy belongs in the UMd, Cuse, JHU group), but not too far off. We can take out anyone on any given day.
