Web hosting?

Can anyone suggest a good service to host a free web page through? I'm putting something together for the local alumni association above and beyond the bare-bones one offered by the Alumni Association.

Just hoping to create something that can have pictures, a calendar of events, maybe a running blog/announcements section, that sorta thing. I'd also like it to be freely accessible without forcing people to sign up for a service to view the page (which I think Google groups makes you do?).

I found blogspot (now affiliated with Google) very easy to use, free, and no need to log in to view my page.

Can I post pictures from events on a blogspot page? Calendar? I was under the assumption those sites were very bare-bones...

You can definitely post pictures, and I am pretty sure there is a calendar feature too, though I have not used it.

Buff, Google is fine if you want something simple and free, but I would recommend Google Web hosting, as opposed to blogspot.

You can create more unique pages, it's just as free and it'll probably look a little better if it's a site you want, rather than a blog.

I don't have an events calender on my blog account at blogspot, but that doesn't mean there's not one available. But I'd still recommend Google Web hosting services over their blog services.


For my Web site, I use Go Daddy. It's OK. It's not free, but it's pretty cheap & for that, I can create as much as I want.
