I wonder if a side trip to GU may be in the works. Also, he's saying mass at the new baseball stadium.

Additionally, I have no idea where we would hold a mass big enough to accommodate the crowds wanting to see the Pope. The Basillica beats McDonough every time.

The Basilica is plenty big, believe me, but I don't think that's even the right size - a Papal mass is a football/baseball stadium or giant open area event. When the previous Pope was in St. Louis there was nothing other than the Rams' stadium (forget what its called now) that could hold the mass.

The only "public" stops on Bennedict's American tour is the public mass at the Nats' new park and the one at Yankee Stadium (not counting the trip to ground zero). His stop at Catholic is going to be: "a meeting with the presidents of Catholic universities and diocesan heads of education at Catholic University of America" It would be an odd political move for Bennedict to take time out to do something at small Jesuit school (the Vatican probably doesn't care about our secular reputation, maybe if we had won the national title last year it would have cought their attention

The only way the hoop team catches the Vatican's eye is if the Holy See could have grabbed up some NCAA money tax free.

I welcome Christ's vicar on earth to this country and to Washington.
