Also, we HAVE to get the team to recreate the Survivor video for Eye of the Tiger...can't you just imagine Roy in a beret stalking through the streets of Gtown with Wallace, Summers, Ewing and Sapp behind him?
At the very least, I DEMAND the new Hoya Blue leadership star in the video.

Anyone else remember the Big East video of the week for the '85 BET Championship? Mullin-Ewing in "I Can't Hold Back" -- another Survivor inspirational classic. Would love to see it on YouTube if anyone has access to the broadcast.
As for the boys doing Eye of the Tiger -- perhaps start it off as a parody of the Starbucks commercial upon which the chant was based, THEN move on to the streets of G'town.

This list is so incomplete without John Parr's seminal "Man in Motion" from the Georgetown classic "St. Elmo's Fire."

Completely agree about "Man in Motion" but I cringe when I think about the "campus" shots in that movie - weren't they filmed at UMD?

Yup - I won a GPB T-shirt for knowing that, which ticked everybody off since about twenty other people raised their hands at the same time.
Actually, it would be pretty cool to hear "Man In Motion". Pep Band, are you listening?
Or could you just play all of the songs on during 1983-84 for the entire season?

Man, it's things like this that lead people to believe that music in the 80s sucked.
I hate these lists!
Besides, how can you have a cheesy 80s song list and not include Def Leppard or Poison, huh?
(Oh, my God, I can't believe I just said that. Forgive me, Dave Gahan & Vince Clark & Moz & Robert Smith & Bernard Sumner)

St. Homo's Fire was filmed at UMDbecause the Jesuits did not approve o fthe premarital sex and drug use contained in the film.
In the summer of '84, Rob Lowe was in DC filming and tried to buck the line at the old Pub. doorman refused him entry. When the manager was called, he identified himself as "Rob Lowe, the Actor". He was then introduced to "the doorman" and told to wait in line. He left.

I sure am glad that I don't know nearly all this minutia about St. Elmo's Fire. I do remember thinking that Demi Moore was rather hot in that movie, and that Ally Sheedy had a coy shyness that was kind of sexy as well.

I can't argue with that, but at the time the hormones were raging and I will not tell a lie. I thought she was damn hot and wondered why that schmuck would be cheating on her in the first place.

Gee, thanks for this. Now I can't get Living on a Prayer out of my head. Again. Speaking of songs along those lines, I think we used to refer to several of those hair bands as one under the name "Great White Lion Snake," and then it would pretty much "fit" even if the song wasn't actually one of theirs. Capturng the whole genre with one conglomerate name seemed to work fine.

I think we used to refer to UF grads as cretins, until people from Crete complained...
