On my way in to work this morning, I caught Dan Patrick on Elliot in the morning. Dan mentioned to Elliot that he would be interviewing John Thompson Jr on his show about the influence of Hip Hop on basketball. Elliot took repeated shots at Thompson calling him a horrible broadcaster and stating that Dan better ask yes and no questions. I can't remember the other things he said, but I thought it came across as extremely disrespectful and I hope that JTII catches wind of these comments. I have heard sentiments from others about JTII speaking too slow and being boring on the radio, but I personally enjoy his show and listen to it everyday by streaming web broadcast. I just felt these comments were classless pot shots at a man whose earned respect. I hope that the others on the station ie Doc Walker, Brian Mitchell, Smokin Al, etc hear of this and fire back. Curious to know all your thoughts.

I never listen to Elliot, but I happened to catch that segment as well today. He also said that Pops wouldn't know anything about hip hop and that he probably thinks that Marvin Gaye would fall under that category.
I don't know where this is all coming from and why he chooses to pick on a legend like that. Aren't DC101 and Sportstalk980 sister stations?

Thank God, it's been five years since I've had to listen to a local radio station...at all.
(not that these things don't happen regularly on satellite, but the advantage of satellite is that you don't have to listen to any of these morons)
My guess is that no one listens to Elliott and he's trying to find a way to get people to listen to him.
Other than being the only cheerleader for the Caps in this entire city, I don't think there's anything else redeeming about the man (as a host, that is, don't know him personally).

Elliot and his gang also spoiled a perfectly good Tuesday evening at Rosecroft Raceway by bringing a brigade of bozos to race ATVs around the track.
No part of watching moderately overweight adults ride around an enormous dirt track on go-kart style ATVs was remotely close to entertaining.
(For those who have never been, Rosecroft Raceway is a phenomenal experience--even though the races happen to be "fixed" sometimes.)

Like the Meadowlands, at Rosecroft "It's all about being there." And they also encourage attendees to "Discover the winner inside you."

There is little more worthless to the world than the radio morning show, played in lieu of music. Has anyone ever seen a host of these shows, a so-called "radio personality?" These are almost always mildly to morbidly overweight people whose weight/acne/face precluded them from television, whose self-titillating sense of humor is vomit inducing, and whose groupies are almost always muffin-topped tramp-stamped shovel-faces who love nothing more than the taste of stale duck-butter. I've seen this Elliot of the morning and some of his colleagues of the morning, and I'd say that I'm right on with this group.
JT Jr., I am sure, craps more personality than this prick.

My brother's frat name was duck butter...say what you will about frats, but that is high comedy.

I stopped listening to him years ago when he said that Patrick Ewing could not read. I don't think the Greaseman is the only DC101 hostwho harbors some issues with people that look different than him.

Uh.
Pops' show DOES s*ck. You guys are fooling yourselves if you think anything else. Elliot has good days and bad days, this obviously was one of his bad ones.

Amen. All racial overtones aside, Big John is a god-awful broadcaster.
Eliot may be a jerk who was a tad offensive, but Big John stinks on-air.

If the show sucks (i havent heard much of it) then it sucks. that doesnt say anything about Big John as a person or coach only as a broadcaster. and his ability as a coach does NOT mean that we have to value everything he does. his merits as a coach do not necessarily translate to being good at unrelated things.
also it is ironic that certain individuals here will condemn elliot (who i like and listened to every morning through out middle and high school) for "insulting" Big John and then in the same breath talk about how ugly and untalented he is (he is ugly i agree), but really, ad hominem attacks are not a legit form of argument.
