I like how he started his speech with "Thank you for coming out today." Seriously?

I guess I'm just not sure what all the hullabaloo is over whether or not Craig is gay. If he is, great, if not, great.
What I am pretty offended about though, is that he committed "lewd behavior" in a public restroom. He could be gay, straight, or asexual but it still wouldn't change the fact that what he admitted to doing was wrong, illegal, and creepy.

Exactly my point. If he is gay, there are really only a handful of people who it would affect. Why does CNN feel the need to inform me of the "Developing Story: Sen. Craig says he's not gay"?

OK I don't want to sterotype but he uses phrases like "God Jiminy" several times in an interview... Speaking of sterotypes I liked how he defended himself by saying "if I did flirt with men, I wouldn't do it in Boise Idaho" (and threw in another "Jiminy")

UPDATE: The Bathroom Bandit has stepped down from his committee assignments and Senior Republicans, such as Senator McCain and Senator Coleman have called for his resignation. Stick a fork in him, he's done by the end of the week. www.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS/08/29/craig.arrest/index.html

Why does CNN feel the need to inform me of the "Developing Story: Sen. Craig says he's not gay"? He's supported a lot of anti-gay legislation, which is what I think makes it interesting.

I thought the same thing. It makes it sound better if "senior" Republicans are calling for this guy to resign.

According to Tucker Carlson, the best way to deal with being propositioned in a men's room is to commit a hate crime: tinyurl.com/2uoon7

The joke going around Washington is the only thing worse for the Republicans would be to discover Alberto Gonzales was in the next stall.
