Preface: I bear zero ill will against hifi. I am new to this board. I haven't seen anything he's posted that is worthy of getting exercised over. I do not wish to see hifi get banned, dumped on, hit by falling bananas, boxed out by Hibbert, or anything else unsavory.
My sincere, non-confrontational question is why is he (you, if tis you reading this) so interested in this board? He has over 1,500 posts!
Off the top, I would figure that the most typical (note, I didn't say appropriate) posters would be some variation of 1. GU students, 2. GU alums, 3. Fans of GU, regardless of affiliation (some like GU because of the dog, I learned in Atlanta), and 4. Fans of opponents, such as that nice Vandy fella, leading up to, during, and maybe just after game with said opponent.
But hifi is on the board as often as anyone, it seems, even during the off-season. We haven't played Florida in 13 months. We aren't in the same league. We have few common opponents. We share no coaching or player legacies that I'm aware of.
So why the attention?
Again, don't misunderstand. I do not mind his presence at all, and welcome him to stay and contribute, but it is just a point of curiosity.
I know that I have posted on or checked out the boards of schools we were playing in big games, like Syracuse, Northern Iowa, or Florida (I tried Belmont, but they had like 4 members). But after the obligatory "congrats" or "F.U. and your mom" or "good game, you had a nice run" goodbye post, that's the end of it.
Ok, this is ridiculous -- I really must bill more than 2 hours today.
I blame YB, Cambridge, and Buffalo (and Mike Nifong) for my lack of productivity today.
