I wonder if one of the "other charges" is for threatening someone for holding up an anti Craig Esherick sign.

When Blake Esherick goes to swear in at his trial will he hold his right hand as a fist over his head when he swears in?

This indictment is nothing more than prosecutorial retribution by a partisan Democrat.

This indictment is nothing more than prosecutorial retribution by a partisan Democrat. This is a joke, right? If not, what Bill O'Reilly-inhabited planet are you living on? This has nothing to do with partisan politics. Doug Jemal et al. (who gave plenty of money to D.C. Democratic candidates) allegedly gave a D.C. official (hired by a Democratic mayor) thousands of dollars in favors in order to steer city real-estate procurements. The whole thing was investigated by a Democrat, Councilmember Jim Graham. It's as embrassing to Tony Williams as it is to Jemal & Co. And are they even Republicans? Has that even been reported?

I think it's amazing that Blake has been able to stay as calm as he has this year. That shows Blake's maturity and shows what kind of man he is. But I swear to God, I'm not going to behave like that anymore. Anymore. I'm sick of this. I am absolutely sick of the way that Blake Esherick is being treated in our justice system, and it makes no sense, it makes absolutely no sense, and it is unfair!!

Do you think Blake will stand up in the middle of testimony to use the bathroom?

Funny thread, but not basketball. Moving to B & G for further jocularity.

Do you think Blake will stand up in the middle of testimony to use the bathroom? No, but I anticipate he will tape a copy of the indictment above his toilet to motivate himself for trial.

I must have missed the previous news story where he said he'll be around the company for another 30 years and never be indicted.
Also, does this mean that Mr. Jemal's son will now move to Arkansas to work for a development company down there?

Here are some more thoughts:
* After Blake is found guilty they will realize that the jury actually had 13 people in it.
* Blake's attorney said that it is an "unreasonable expectation" for him to win every single case.
* Blake's lawyer will be ready to win in closing arguments four different times, but he will proceed to screw it up every time. He will lose to a guy that went to Notre Dame Law School.

Blake will tackle the prosecutor's exhibits and tear them to shreds.

Trial predictions:
If the prosecuting attorney is from Grambling, St. Leo's, or Latvia then Blake will be a lead-pipe lock to win, but no one will show up to the court proceedings, the defense counsel will seem lethargic, uninterested, and just going through the motions during the trial. Afterwards, the trial will not be covered by any local media and everyone involved will wonder how it was relevant.
If the prosecuting attorney is from an actual respected law school, the defense will briefly seem to be able to match the prosecution argument for argument - then the defense counsel will get tired and confused and will be replaced by an entirely new set of lawyers - as a result the prosecution will jump out to an insurmountable lead in the minds of the jury and all of the trial observers will leave early and angry. The media will cover the trial, but it probably won't be televised.
