Anyway, with the nomination about 6 weeks away, I thought that I would revive and rework my poll from earlier in a way that would better reflect who is in and who is out of the Veepstakes. I believe that I have included all of the people rumored to be on the short list.
Please vote away and discuss.

one of the more interesting rationales for selecting edwards i've heard is that the media is quite disdainful of kerry (a la gore) and edwards, a media darling, may help balance that out.

You must know that hearing that the press is "disdainful" of Kerry is quite amusing to these ears. What then would be the appropriate word for how the press feels about Bush, whom 90% plus will vote against? If only the media could get edwards and mccain against one another.

Well, what do you expect? Cheney made an argument today that the media is at fault for the alleged Iraq-9/11 connection. I can't exactly point my finger on why that might be other than that they actually covered and reported Bush/Cheney speeches in which they implied a connection of some kind, although never explicitly saying that the Iraqis themselves provided support.

bin, im not going to go down this road since you have repeatedly implied that NOTHING other than personal political convictions (i.e. creating a compelling media narrative, making everything seem like a close race, going easy on candidates who have granted personal access to them, etc) are relevant in analyzing how reporters present the news.
