For what it's worth: I already asked Admin about it, and he said it was something that "proboards" did, and consequently was something beyond his control. Nor could he offer insight as to why ter-rorism is filtered out, by the way.

Maybe it's censorship of the word "error", changing it to "record", so when a poster tries to refer to the "Esherick Error", it changes it to the "Esherick Record" ;D

"E-ror" becomes "Record". How odd.

not sure about why e-ror might be censored, but I can imagine that "terrorism" trips off some internet alarms in the department of homeland security these days, so it seems understandable for a messageboard operator to try and avoid an accompanying hassles before they happen.

The thought crossed my mind too, but ter-rorism is far to frequent a topic on the internet to warrant red-flagging at DHS, so I can't imagine that ProBoards filters it as a prophylactic measure. Plus, given Cam's evidence that the board apparently filters "er-ror," I don't think it's about "ter-ror" per se. Maybe ProBoards itself doesn't like the thought of off-topic boards and the potential heat they create, so it does what it can to make such discussions a little more awkward. Might as well filter out abortion and substitute "absorption" or something equally meaningless.

I really don't know much about web design, so take this for what it's worth, but the only other thought I have is that whatever programming language the board is written in could cause a screwup whenever it receives an "er-ror" message within the text as inputted...

Hey! Someone just turned off the "jockey" feature! Maybe it had to do with the Derby?
Let's try this: tecordist?
Nope, t e r r o r i s t still = terrorist
