If the team has the mood right now that I do, we're in trouble. I've been happy as a clam for the last 30-35 hours. This kind of attitude and feeling of fulfillment is exactly what causes a team to come out flat after a big win. I just hope that JT3 was able to bring them back to the planet on the way back from Pitt so he was able to conduct a couple days of grueling practice in preparation for a strong and worthy opponent.

Jersey I was thinking the same thing. I know JTIII is worried. Human nature can't help that. Especially with a young team, and veterans who have only experienced losing. We may get big headed coming into this game. I hope not, but we may be feeling our oates a little bit after the big win against PITT.

Yeah, that's just one of the many challenges of rebuilding a program that has come within spitting distance of rock bottom. You want to go into every game confident and strong mentally. Yet you know you are vulnerable and can't have any giddiness after advances. That's a good observation about veterans who are used to losing. I guess the only good thing that can be said about that is that they should be open to change.
Really good teams approach every game the same way. I was struck by the demeanor of the Duke players during their undressing of Princeton. No chest bumping, no high fives. They just ran their stuff, played hard every minute on the floor, and shook hands when it was all over.

I hear ya Pax. I saw JTIII in an interview last night, and he was so nonchalant about the victory. He was like, "Well first win in the conference this year, but now on to watching film of UCONN." Given the rapport the players have with the coaching staff this year, I think the players will follow suit.

UConn's probably a very good opponent to have right now -- I'd be much more worried about a letdown playing Rutgers or St Johns. Playing a team even BETTER than Pitt, that matches up well against some of our biggest weakness (rebounding, bulk in middle) should keep the guys really focused. We might lose, but I doubt we'll se an overconfident team out there today.
