There are too many elements of our society who have reverted to September 10th priorities. There is a mini-maelstrom, or not so mini really, because feminist/leftist Naomi Wolfe is releasing a book in which she drops the bombshell that noted Yale professor Harold Bloom, avert your eyes, TOUCHED HER LEG OVER 20 YEARS AGO! The sexual harrasment witchunters do the impossible- they bring out the anti-American in me. (And yes- so do those overly-timid people from the right who were shocked by Janet Jackson Nipplegate. Americans truly can be absolute babies about certain things.

FYI, there was an OpEd piece in the Washington Post earlier in the week expressing, I'd guess, somewhat the same sentiment. Can't remember which day. The gist: Get over it and move on.

Thanks for the tip- found and read the op ed. The Washington Post's Anne Applebaum is about as diplomatic as she could possibly be in calling Wolf a baby wallowing in an invented victimhood. I did not know the "offense" happened in her room- where Bloom was at her invitation. By this hyper-sensitive standard, about every other FEMALE at GU has been guilty of sexual harrassment about a dozen times each year to my recollection. Come on Naomi, are we not inventing crap to bitch about? Evidently she compared her victimhood in some way to cadets raped at service academies....now that kind of lack of perspective can only arrive from alarming stupidity. She ought to be embarrassed at this ploy for sympathy.

Yeah, you're 200% correct, Bin. This is totally bogus bs.
