now that we're about a month into the school year, what are people's thoughts on the new food service at Leo's? i was somewhat surprised to read this pretty positive review in the Hoya a couple of weeks ago ( www.thehoya.com/viewpoint/091107/view2.cfm), because my sense of the general consensus is that, with a few exceptions, the food quality is about the same and the quantity has gone down. there seem to be a lot more longer lines more often than last year, as well of cases where they run out of food leaving severely limited options, almost like they didn’t plan enough for the numbers of customers they’d have. personally, i've been unimpressed with the new service and disappointed that downstairs the mainstays of both pasta and many of the "grill side" options (chicken patties, hamburgers, french fries) are either there inconsistently or not at all. obviously, this is mainly of concern for current students, though i'm sure alums might be interested to hear reactions to this significant piece of campus life/policy.

I gave Leo's a try about a month ago and just decided not to rely on it for my main source of food. I still eat breakfast there now and again but its really not worth the effort to get there (even though I live in the SWQ). The change in the food service is a great sham

Do what I did - cash in your meal plan and eat at Wisey's.
Seriously though, I had Aramark in law school ... let's just say that most people gave up the caf after 1L.

Yeah i'm glad i went with a block I've been to leo's about 5 times this semester. No improvemnt in quality. I'm convinced their plan was to change around the set up and tell us the food was better in hopes of us just believing them and tricking ourselves into thinking it tastes better. Litteraly if you hadn't told me it was under new management i'd never have known.

They DO have some improvements: Like the make your own thin crust pizza and make your own pasta dish. But that's all. It seems like they have a lot of the same things all the time.

I've found that the only way to eat well there is to make your meals yourself, but that presents the question: why am I paying to fix myself sandwiches and salads 90% of the time when I could do it from home?

I appear to be in the vast minority, but I think that the food's a mite better this year. My main complaint is that some days, all of the vegetarian dishes are good (by good, I mean graded "edible" or better) and others, it's impossible to find anything beyond a salad or a make your own pasta deal...
Oh, and what the heck happened to burrito saturday? That was the best meal of the week. Now there is almost literally nothing to eat on the weekends.

now that is brilliant journalism. Voice, take note... Yeah, I have no iron in this fire since I haven't had to deal with campus food in a looong time, but that was pretty funny.
