Very early this morning I and I imagine other students recieved an email announcing that we have a new VP of student saftey nammed Rocco DelMonaco, Jr, but the message consistently refers to him as "Rocky"
Highlights of the message:
Rocky comes to Georgetown with more than 30 years of operational and managerial experience in domestic and international law enforcement, intelligence, counter terrorism, protection and risk management. Most recently he served as an independent consultant and senior executive with ManTech SMA, a large government contractor for law enforcement, counter terrorist training and homeland security issues. Prior to joining ManTech he served at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) where he oversaw the integration of threat monitoring and strategic responses by DHS and other Federal agencies and served as the Special Agent in Charge of the liaison division of
the Federal Air Marshal Service.
He also held a variety of responsibilities during more than 20 years as a special agent in the U.S. Secret Service, where, among other things, he supervised the White House Joint Operations Center coordinating protective operations to protect the President and White House complex, led the Counter Assault Team at specially designated national security events including the 1999 World Trade Organization meeting in Seattle and the 2000 Democratic National Convention in Los Angeles, and served as an instructor for new agents. He also has extensive experience handling criminal investigations.
I must say I'm not sure whether to feel reasurred or freaked out by "Rocky"
