received this earlier:
To Members of the University Community:
At approximately 11:00 a.m. this morning an empty District of Columbia Circulator bus rolled in to Georgetown University administrative offices at 3300 Whitehaven Parkway NW, known as the Harris Building, after being parked temporarily outside on the street. Georgetown's Department of Public Safety responded in addition to the Metropolitan Police (MPD) and Fire Departments. MPD is now in control of the scene. The building has been evacuated and one employee is being treated for injuries at a local hospital. As soon as the Fire Department removes the bus from the scene an engineer will assess the damage and make recommendations about its structural safety before the building is reoccupied. We will keep you informed of the situation and take additional steps as necessary as we learn more.
Sincerely,
Spiros Dimolitsas Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer

I knew the Ciculator buses were up to no good.
Glad no ones hurt, and I hope the building is okay. Doesn't look THAT bad, but you never know.

Update: To Members of the Georgetown University Community:
I am writing to update you on the news earlier today of an incident at the Harris Building at 3300 Whitehaven Parkway NW. A District of Columbia Circulator bus rolled back from a parked location, struck another parked vehicle and then struck the office of an employee in the Center for Intercultural Education and Development (CIED). This individual remains hospitalized but the injuries are not considered life threatening. Members of CIED staff are with this employee and will keep my office apprised of her condition. The driver of the Circulator bus has been placed on administrative leave pending the results of a full investigation by both the Metropolitan Police Department and the District Department of Transportation(DDOT). Damage to the building itself is limited to this individual office in the CIED suite. A structural engineer, in consultation with a District of Columbia Department of Consumer and Regulatory Affairs building inspector, assessed the damage and has determined that the building is safe to occupy. Employees will return to work as scheduled tomorrow. Georgetown officials will begin immediately working with the building owner and occupants to make necessary repairs. I would like to express my gratitude to all employees in the Harris Building as we worked with District officials today to respond to this situation.
Sincerely,
Spiros Dimolitsas Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer
Hope that one person is ok, but everyone still has to go back to work. A Circulator crashing through your window... how's that for a little spice in the morning?

My roommate works part time at an office in the library, and apparently some university offices are hooked up in a certain way that if there's an emergency in one office, the other offices can hear the emergency call. Apparently, this one went something like this: "THE BUS RAN INTO THE BUILDING!!!!!!!!!!" "THE BUS!!!!!! ahhhhhhhh" etc. etc.
