Or more specifically, "The Best CEO You've Never Heard Of". I found this article in an issue of Capitol File Magazine lying around at work and since I can't find a copy online, I'll paraphrase here.
Basically Ted lists his 5 qualities in a great CEO and then explains how DeGioia represents them.
1. Embody the brand and its promise. 2. Have a strong moral cmpass. 3. Connect with the communities and consitituencies you serve. 4. Bestow a higher calling. 5. Set tight and achievable financial goals, then consistently meet and beat them.
I was okay with the article until I hit quality #5. And how Leonsis says that DeGioia connects with a wide variety of groups including Rome, the DC archdiocese, other denominations on campus, students, the Georgetown neighborhood, etc.
All in all, it at least gave me something to laugh about. What do you all think?

Why doesn't he give him a congratulatory 10 million dollar bonus then. I have no use for Leonsis or his hockey club, just his random spots on EITM, and those have gotten pretty stale too.

Doesn't Leonsis make a profit from the Hoyas playing at the Verizon Center? If so, why would he support an on-campus arena?

On the plus side, the Medical Center is now in the black, which is a positive sign. Of course, that's because we don't own the damn thing anymore...
The bit about tight and achievable financial goals may have some truth to it with regards to the major initiatives going on right now, which are construction. The Davis Center had a target amount that was required, it was achieved, and it's been built. The MSB building is supposed to be the same way.
The football stadium, though, is another story, although I suppose it made sense to go ahead and lay in a new turf field and embed all the underground wiring and pipes for the new stadium while they were at it.
