Never had class with her - the professors I had who knew her always spoke very highly of her no matter thier approach to international relations.

I had two classes with professor Kirkpatrick, and feel immensely fortunate to have had that great pleasure. The best parts of her classes were her off the cuff anecdotes. She will be sorely missed.

She was an impressive woman and, I agree with thebin, her stories were great. She will be missed and GU was fortunate to have her affiliation for a time.

i was sfs and i took the one class she was teaching at the time that i was at GU, i think i took it fall 94, and was not impressed. a great woman that i respected a great deal both before and after the class... but i didnt learn anything in her class and most of the class was her telling stories and asides, many of which revolved around her cat. i often use her as an example of why it is not always the greatest thing to have world famous professors teaching your class.

Obviously you never learned about the propriety of posting in a RIP thread or right after someone died, whether you liked them or not, either.
