It's actually not that bad. It's disorienting at first, and also confusing when you get coleslaw with your sub, but they let you choose your chips/pretzels, which is a very nice feature. (Previously you could only do that by being very nice to the folks at the counter.) It's worth a shot, at any rate, if you are in the area or are passing through. But if you're driving into DC just for madness, go with the classic Wiseys

I see nothing wrong with it.
He might be a bastard, but the guy who runs Wisemiller's is a smart man.
I don't care if there's another one on P St.--I'm still going to the old one and if I ever need to hit up P St. they still have the essential Madness items.
Just because the new stuff is there doesn't mean I'm actually going to try it.

I'm not ACTUALLY upset, folks. Obviously, the Wisey's owners are kickin' ass and takin' names business-wise.
It just makes me furious and sad at the same time to see the beloved name DISGRACED!!! by herbal teas an all that other junk. It'd be like opening another Anchor Bar (birthplace of the chicken wing) and turning it into some martini lounge. Another little slice of Americana down the drain...

I actually WENT to the new wisey's today (working 9-6 has some advantages ... like hour and a half lunches??). Nabeel was working, along with the older dude and the guy who was perennially behind the grill (the really nice guy who smiled a lot, i can't remember his name).
Ok, so yes it was nice, no there was not funky spanish music blaring (I told Nabeel that I missed it and he chuckled), and yes there are crazy new options on the menu, but think about it this way - I bet when Wisey's 1 opened, it was considered pretty healthy! Just the cycle of life, folks.
I had a monterrey jack chicken, bbq utz (choices?!?! i clammed up big time), and bottle of soda (weird, but oddly refreshing), and was happy as a clam. If Wisey's continues their eastward expansion toward the Hill, I'll be one happy puppy.
cheers, C2C
Wisemiller's did not sell grill food when it opened; in fact, it was not especially known for sandwiches until the 1990's. Today's over-35 Hoya crowd spent their sandwich money at the Center Cafe, not Wisemiller's--Admin.
EDIT: My bad.

"and the guy who was perennially behind the grill (the really nice guy who smiled a lot...)"
I know when I was at Georgetown, nice wasn't a word I'd use to describe any of the guys behind the grill. They avoided eye contact at all costs as I remember.
