I went to this game and what a game I went to. There was probably only 3 georgetown fans in attendance atleast i only saw 2. We shot great in warmups. After Jeff ariballed the 3 at the beginning Pitt fans started the chant AIRBALL everytime he got the ball the rest of the way, and I think that that really bothered him. But, it was by far the best game that I ever went to in my life, and me being onl 15 years old, I bragged the whole way. Everyone just stared, but heck GTOWN is back and we beat PITT.

Thanks for the pictures. I didn't get to see the game.
I don't guess anyone will complain about the number of treys taken tonight - 11 for 21. Wallace and Cook were 7 for 9 behind the stripe. Thats some nice strokin'.
Terrific win for JT3 and the fellas.

When was the last time we beat a ranked BE opponent on the road? Maybe Pitt is in a slump or overrated, but this is a huge W.

Is it just me or do the pictures of Bowman's off balance moves look great after a win? In the last one I can't tell if he's shooting a layup or grabbing a rebound, but I could care less right now. Go Hoyas and keep improving every game.

Only 6 men played in the game (well, Ray did too, but for only a minute) and they did very, very well. Super encouraging. I am on cloud nine right now. GO HOYAS!!!!!

...just saw highlights on ESPNews - great backdoor cut for the tying bucket by Owens on a slick assist from Green. Great move for the winner by Bowman. No Bad Brandon on that one!

Great win for the Hoyas, especially with it coming in our Big East opener. I just sent my email to Bob Smizik as well. Teach him to underestimate Georgetown!

I went to ESPNZone in Times Square to watch this one... boy was I not dissapointed This is easily the biggest win we've had in the last three years. The amazing thing about it is that we didn't even play our best game (Hibbert- awful, Green- just ok, Ray Reed- Ray Reed). Well let me clarify that... we played about 25-30 minutes of AMAZING basketball. It was as if we were playing Penn State again- Gonzaga-style 3-point shooting, great aggressive D. Then of course we struggled for the end of the first half and the start of the second- It was a combination of Pitt waking up and us not getting 2-point looks. When we started to play even with them during the last 10 minutes of the second half, there were 2 plays I was REALLY impressed with. Green's backdoor pass to Owens for a lay-up- great execution of the offense. And then Green faked a backdoor pass, got the defender to bite, and then drove to the hoop himself- missing and getting his own rebound. Brandon's go-ahead basket w/ 8 seconds left was a great example of how Thompson is adapting the offense to his players. During that 24 second possession, they tried to run backdoor cuts to get an open layup without success. Instead of waiting for the shot clock to hit 0 to shoot up a 3, Brandon was given the lee-way to penetrate off the dribble, since the Pitt guards were playing such tight man-to-man. That basket was not a Princeton-basket, but allowing the dribble penetration plays to Brandon's strengths. And Ashanti.... WOW Finally, I was taking the train home and I met a guy whose son is Drew Hall's roommate at the College of Charlston. Apparently, Drew only had bad things to say about Esherick. Stuff about Esherick playing favorites, braking promises, and just being a complete idiot.... I know Hall isn't the best source, but it's just amazing to hear how bad things were. None of us really liked Esherick, but did anyone realize it was THAT bad? And we gave this guy a contract extention before firing him? Oh well.. let's focus on the here and now.. GO HOYAS!!

Nice caption work DanMcQ!
Great win by the Hoyas and for JTIII. Seems like everyone's going to have their work cut out for them in conference play this season. Johnnies knock off NC State, and tonight BC knocks off UConn, Villanova knocks off #23 West Virginia, and the Hoyas defeat Pitt at home. I love the smell of parity in the late evening.
Welcome to the new Big East, Smizik! Got any other 'poor sisters' you want to antagonize? I think Pitt may pay that clown's editor NOT to write any more columns...

Now wait a minute. We've also heard from a guard shooting 30% and averaging 7ppg in the ACC that Georgetown was the reason he couldn't get better. Also we heard that Esherick "didn't know how to handle kids" from a player named by Bliss in infamous Baylor tapes as "lying when he could tell the truth."
Let's not put too much stock into the rumor mill on Esherick from the Montrose 3 (4 if you count Ronny).
We saw the biggest problem with Esh tonight when a good head coach beat a good assistant coach in a close game. JTIII did a better job of handling his team while Dixon's team got flustered and made a terrible turnover.
Also if the promises Esh broke were Hall and Bethel as guaranteed starters, I'm glad he did. Having two guys like Wallace and Cook who could handle the ball in crunch time proved huge. And DO was a super sub.
To me this game was a test to see if we learned from Temple. Looks like we did which means we have a chance in every game. Great job to the staff and players.

Speaking of Esh, this is exactly the kind of surprising win he NEVER gave us. There were those of us who had been saying for years that a simple change in head coach alone (i.e. without dealing with facilities problems, arena problems, cash problems) would lead to immediately noticeable changes. You'd be hard pressed to find anyone who wouldn't see such changes already apparent, particularly after tonight.
Hoyas fans can now legitimately watch every game for the rest of the reason knowing that there is at least a possibility that the good guys will win. Last season, most games were over before they started.
Go Hoyas.
