All Alumni, I would like to suggest that you register on "thefacebook.com" It is a great way to communicate with fellow classmates and it is just extremely interesting. thefacebook.com/I'm actually kind of surprised that this was never mentioned on this board by any students. Anyway "thefacebook.com" is exactly what it sounds like, and online facebook for colleges all over the country and in Canada. This thing has caught on like crazy on our campus and on campuses across the country. It was created last school year and from that point on it has spread like an uncontrollable virus. It's actually a very cool thing and it can be extremely useful for communication. After doing searches on the website I have found that in the class of 2004 (last years seniors) there are 817 people registered. In the classes of 2005-2008 there are over 1,000 in every class (it can't calculate anything over 1,000 apparently). So basically the vast majority of our campus is on this thing which makes it a very useful and interesting thing. I just did searches on the classes that graduated before this thing was created and the numbers of registered users are as would be expected. 2003 has 147 registered users, 2002 drops to 47 users, 2001 falls to 22 users, 2000 has 14 users, the class of 1999 falls to 4 people and then from there on it is 1 or 2 for a few years and 0 typically after that. I would love to see more alumni join this site, especially alumni from prior to the 90's. Spread the word and get all your fellow Georgetown friends to join, its a great way to get in touch with people and it can be a lot of fun.

is this like that annoying classmates.com that sends endless spam emails and uses your info that you give for free and makes others pay to see it? or vis a versa tries to get you to pay to contact people who gave their info for free?

No one has to pay for anything. Everything on the site is for free. The only emails you will ever get will be if someone has added you as a friend, or possibly if someone invites you to join a group, but thats almost only among students.
It's really a great thing. No spam email, no fees. Just a great way to connect with people.
About 4,500 undergrad students at Georgetown are currently on it, I dont think that many people would register for something unless it was a really useful and fun thing.
