All right...this one is easy...
Hoyas 68 Pitt 55
Ray Reed goes for a double double of 12 points and 10 assists.

To take FOTP's and mix it up, I'll say Hoyas win 65-58, and Ray's double-up is actually 10 points and 12 assists.

Maybe I was a little too optimistic...
Hoyas 75 Pitt 50 (with three ejections for frustration)
Ray Reed - 15 points/12 assists/5 steals

Gtown takes it 72-71, with Troutman pulling a Drew Hall and fouling Ramell with seconds left. Ramell sinks the two free throws to cap his siiiick performance of 25 points and 3 dunks.

Hoyas 52 Panthers 50
Ugly game...slow game. Lots of turnovers both ways. Green nails a late three to put us in the lead. Then ices the game from the line as Pitt fouls.

Georgetown 81 71 Pitt 67
*** The last time Pitt lost back-to-back home games was in February 2001, when the Panthers fell to Notre Dame, 75-67, and Georgetown, 81-67, to start a four-game losing streak.

Georgetown 57 Pittsburgh 55
Hoyas pull out a tough game, outscoring Pitt in the second half and finishing it off with free throws. Brandon Bowman shows us that he more than capable of playing a tough all-around game within the new offensive system, against a top-ranked Big East foe. JG and Hibbert are able to hold their own against Pitt's size and play solid defense down low, despite still getting outrebounded by a small margin. Our first very solid defensive performance against a strong opponent, with Cook and Ross providing us with some upperclassman leadership and timely scoring. Reed shines on the defensive end, getting some big steals as well as a few assists, but while he is ineffective in scoring from the outside, JW and Owens come through and hit a couple timely buckets to keep us in the game.
LET'S GO HOYAS!!! BEAT PITT!

If Cook and or Wallace can shut down Krauser, Gu wins. If Krauser hits for at least 18 pts, Gu losses a close one. The spread has actually dropped to 12. Hopefully the panthers are getting a little worried. I'd love for Green to jam it in Taft's face at least once.

Some of those reverse throwdowns Brandon was doing vs. Clemson would be nice, too!

Green's ESPN Highlight debut in Gtown win 78-74.
Green's 16pts 12 boards and Bowmans 22 pts and 8 boards win the game.
Wallace and Cook combine for 20 points and 10 assists
Owens, Ray, and Ross nail some clutch shots. Hoyas shoot 52% for the game while holding Pitt to 45%

I think KCHoya wins the prize as the best call....Great Job!!!
although those close calls in the 50's like FOTP, mine and some others were all pretty good guesses as well.

Not going to predict an outcome for tonight's tilt, but I thought I'd lay out a few goals for tonight's game. 1. Shoot 40% from 3 -- There has been plenty of discussion about whether we're taking too many threes, but with Pitt trying out a zone (of which they've only played 20 minutes in the last three seasons), we should have some good open looks. 2. Keep Krauser under 15 points -- As has been noted, Krauser, like Brandin Knight before him, is what makes the Pitt offense go. This is a huge test for the Hoya backcourt, but let's be honest, Krauser is no Deron Williams, and so a good defensive effort on him is far from impossibhle. Solid D from the guards is absolutely necessary, because if we continue to have Roy finding himself at the top of the key provide help defense on guards, Taft and Troutman will kill us. 3. More assists than turnovers -- The Hoyas are currently averaging 15.3 assists to 13.6 turnovers per game (a 1.125-to-1 ratio). Only once in the last 15 years have the Hoyas ended a season with an assist/turnover ratio higher than 1 (1.01/1 in 2001-02). Maintaining a positive ratio during the Big East season, and particularly against a team like Pitt, would be a great sign of the new era under JTIII. And keeping turnovers low is hugely important as the Hoyas have not yet figured out how to successfully... 4. BOX OUT!!!!! The Hoyas have been giving up way, way, way too many offensive boards, and while collecting a decent number of their own on the offensive glass (mainly thanks to Jeff), cannot possibly hang with a team like Pitt if they are going to give the Panthers 10-15 extra shot opportunities. Work on these four things, and the Hoyas have a real chance in this game, but more importantly, will continue their upward trajectory of improvement on the season. We have a tough start to the BE schedule, but as long as I continue to see signs of improvement, I will take some comfort in the knowledge that better days are coming. Working back from my own "keys to the game," I would have to say that the Hoyas did what it took to show improvement, and in this case to pull out the win. 1. The bulk of the 3's taken were good ones, and we easily cleared the 40% mark. 2. Krauser was harassed, and while he did reach the 15 point mark (exactly), he wasn't able to gain much of it from the field. 3. 16 Assists, 10 turnovers. I can't remember the last time a G'town team posted numbers like that in a Big East game (for that matter, the TO number alone seems like a shocker against Pitt). If the Hoyas continue to take good care of the ball, this will be a fun season. and 4. While we still got outrebounded, we "only" gave up 8 offensive boards. An improvement, compared to our numbers against Norfolk State and Howard. And while shooting 50% from the field, we were still able to collect 7 offensive boards of our own.
