Alright, seems like a smoother victory than NSU. This feels good. Now bring on Pitt!

My favorite part.... "Georgetown had only one basket in the half that wasn't either a dunk, layup or 3-pointer."

Did Ryan Beal really have 3 TOs and 2 fouls in three minutes? Ouch.

It looks like the Hoyas (minus Green, who was due for an off night) had the kind of game that we all expect against the MEAC teams and especially Howard.
Holding a team to 5-33 shooting in a half is some solid defense. Especially those 3 blocks by Roy!
Also, Crawford and Ross definately made the most of their time on the court-Crawford went 3-4 for 7 points in 9 minutes and Ross went 4-5 for 9 points in 7 minutes. Looks like Crawford is starting to come out of his shell-maybe JT3 playing him in a critical point of the Norfolk game convinced him he deserved to be on the court.

Actually a fun game to watch. The bench was alive; fun to see the starters cheering on the scrubs. What was astounding was the fact the scrubs ran the offense! Don't they know they are just supposed to charge, foul, and force shots in garbage time!!
Green got two early fouls and Thompson didn't pull him. I felt he wanted to see if Green could adjust his game with two quick fouls early in the first half. Well, Green is a freshman, came down court and immediately was called for an offensive foul. End of Green. Hibbert bobbled some balls out of bounds but the old coaching saying" you can't teach 7'2" was born out. He caught a couple shots. Hustled and played with intensity. Hopefully he will grow and mature into his just turned 18 giant body.
The defense was tremendously improved but as lichoya pointed out Howard didn't have the athletes Norfolk State did. Ford dropped 30 on us twice before but Reid played him tough. Crawford got some good playing time; scored some points including a 3 from the corner; did foul out pretty quickly.
Bowman was excellent on both ends. Looks like he is buying into the system; one of the real keys to any modicum of success we may achieve this year.
Reid scored zero points but played very, very well. Good d; lots of assists; only one wild foray to the hoop.
All in all a good game with crisp ball movement andlots of open looks(think we shot 58% for the game) We don't physically match up well wiht Pitt; go hoyas.

It's good to see Hibbert score 10+ points and we still win. I forget which member of this board noticed that when Roy scores 10+ points, we lose. I guess the theory was that if Roy had to score 10+, someone else integral to the offense wasn't getting it done.
I know it's Howard and I know we had some real motivation coming off a close game, but still . . . . Go Hibbert! 26 Minutes, 5-6 FG, 3 BLK, and only ONE foul. Keep erasing this trend!

I almost forgot though . . . with Howard shooting such a low FG%, there should have been a lot more rebounds for Roy to gather up. I guess there's still things to be desired, but for now I'll settle with points and smart defense.

I actually think Crawford was an interesting story from last night. He played very hard and seemed to really attack the game. A little exuberent on D, but he hasn't played much and seemed pretty excited.
I love his energy and athleticism. Nice first step. I think JTIII wants to ease him into the rotation and he may have earned some minutes last night.
