To all the Ray Reed haters out there, you don't have to be All BE to make huge contributions to the team. witness: Gharun Hester.
(where is he now, anyway?)

Last I knew, he was an assistant coach for the Hoyas' football team... not sure if he's still doing that, though.

Hester did not have a scholarship--he was a walk on.
Also, Hester left the coaching staff before the 2004 season to play football in Germany. There are some links with his new team, but they're all in German and I'm not much help with that--I never studied a foreign language past Latin III in high school.

The football program doesn't give out athletic scholarships (MAAC, and now Patriot League policy, although the PL might be adjusting that down the line). He may have received need-based aid, but it would have been only slightly adjusted from what any other G'town student with similar financial background would have received.
