When is the official 2005 signing list going to be posted on GUHoyas.com? Many other schools have their signing lists as well as a brief bio about each player, why don’t we? I’m getting kind of excited since I heard that this year’s recruiting class may be the best in the PL and maybe the best in Georgetown history…

Ever since I have been a Hoya fan (about 18 months) I have noticed that the football program does not seem to put out a lot of pre-season hype (as compared to other PL programs). I don't think that's an accident. In fact, this year there was a recuit list for Georgetown posted on ShowingBlitz.com. Then, suddenly it was gone.
If that means that the team focus is toward doing it on the field and not on various websites, I can support that. I can patiently wait for the August scrimmages to see what to expect this season. Actually that's a bunch of nonsense...I'm counting the days until summer practices begin.

I am sure that this was not a complete list. One player omitted was WR Charlie Totten a 6'3" wide reciever from Pennsylvania AAAA State Champion Pittsburgh Central Catholic. This guy has great hands and can really strecth the defense with his speed (4.45 in the 40). He averaged 19 yards per catch with 10 touchdowns. Also runs the 110 high hurdles.

While I am not certain as to how many new names are to be added, I am aware that there are several players omitted from the list posted above. There are at least 3 lineman with outstanding credentials who are not listed. Additionally, at least two players on that list are no longer committed to GU. The Kunis kid decided to go to Cornell and the Diamond kid went to another Patriot League team.
From everything I have read, this class seems to be every bit as talented as the last. The future looks bright...now it's time to win.

Any word when the "official" list will be posted? It would be nice to have a little bio about each player.

What's up the 8 QB's on the roster? Why are we carrying so many? Seems like there must be a problem or do the coaches not realize 4-5 of these guys are never going to play?

I have spoken to college coaches who say that they will recruit as many QB's as possible; generally because on many high school teams the QB is the best (or at least most versatile) athlete on the team. These QBs are brought to college, and when it becomes clear who is the "real deal" the others are asked to play other positions, which they are often able to excel at.
In my class at Georgetown I remember 3 QBs being brought in, one ended up at QB, the others at D end and wide receiver.
In fact one of Georgetown's best recent players, Gharun Hester, was a high school QB before switching to WR at Georgetown.
I don't see having so many QBs as the problem; problems develop when kids are unwilling to switch, or there is no clear-cut favorite.

Thanks FormerHoya, This does seem to explain the discrepancy. I just read some old stories and it looks like Maurice Banks was a HS QB and turned into a good defensive player. Seems like the Hoyas need someone to reverse this trend though. The QB #'s from last year were awful.
