8-3 after MEAC week, I assume. 16 league games. Can we go 6-10? I'm saying yes... if only because of the euphoria of a solid thrashing of a big conference team has rid me of my Oral fixation...

I would say yes, the Hoyas will go 6-10, if not better. If you figure 2 wins each against St. Johns, Rutgers, a win at home against Seton Hall and WV-there's six right there. I think this team has the potential to win more games than that. They can beat Nova at home (7) as well as Providence (which hasn't looked to good in the preseason) in the final home game of the year, when the Princeton offense is running at full speed and Green, Wallace and Hibbert have basically a fully conference schedule under there belt. That's 8 wins, for a .500 record. And well, to be honest, I think this team has some upset potential(provided Bowman shows up against a good team), what w/ the new offense, the real coach and the freshman talent. .500 should be the goal for the Hoyas this year. If they go 6-10 or 7-9, well, that's progress. If they don't go at least 6-10, then something went seriously wrong.

I hate to be overly optimistic (terrible habit ), but I'm not willing to write off the NCAA tournament just yet. As you pointed out, there's definitely the possibility of 8 conference wins. Who says we don't get a couple of breaks and the 8 becomes 9 or even 10? We've played a fairly decent schedule with 2 respectable losses for sure and a third which has the potential to be respectable. This team is only going to get better as the year goes on and may be able to surprise a lot of teams. By the time the BET rolls around, we may very well be "the team nobody wants to play." There is NO reason for talk of our prospects of an NIT bid. The NIT may be more "realistic" based on what the critics in the pre season magazines said, but those same pundits did not realize that Jeff Green is the best rookie in the Big East and that Roy Hibbert is the best thing to happen to Survivor since that Starbucks commercial.

While I doubt we'll have the wins to get an at large, we actually have the type of team that traditionally does well in the BET. We will be running an offense that is tough to prepare for, plus by then it should be running more smoothly. I think if we get a decent draw on seeding in the BET, we can sneak up on teams and take the championship. Let's win a BET, for old times sake and for the future. What a bump that would be for the program!!!
