Anyone know if it is common (or even permitted) for spectators to watch practices in August? Don't want to be the only one.

Good question...I'd like to catch a few as well when in town. Looking forward to meeting you and all the other parents and fans. My son will be a frosh, and we're all excited to be a part of the Hoya "family".

I don't know if there is a policy with regards to watching practice, but when I played there were usually some parents and fans in the stands during summer camp.

It certainly has been ok to watch parctices from the stands in the past. I cannot imagine it being different this year.It is common for the parents to watch if you are in town. You will probably find there are more parents of freshmen staying around to observe but that is natural. It is a good way to get to know the other parents. Our son will be a junior this year and I can tell you that the more parents you get to know, the more fun you will have at the games over the next few years (especially if you travel a long distance). The players develop a comraderie but the parents do as well. Bring water because it can get hot sitting in the stands in August.

Thanks for the tip about water. We're a DC area family, so we know about August in Washington. As bad as it is in the stands, it's pure agony under a helmet.
